  1. Started by gasgasjamie,

Not asking for results here, as I know its early and all that, but heard it was run under the non-stop rules. This is probably the first trial down south to run under these rules when all the best riders were there. I couldn't make it this year due to other commitments, but was wondering how everyone who went found it? Did it work?

Just wondered if anyone can remember a trial being held in the late 70's in the "Glen" public park in dunfermline in the late 70's? It used the Burn (stream) running through the main part of the park and the park paths and a massive set of steps within the park. It was my first contact with trails and i guess I would be about 8 or 9, it seemed (in my memory) as though it was like a major trial equivalent to a national or international round but was probably just a clubby event. If anyone can remember it I wouldn't mind knowing the history of it. cheers

    Thankyou for the informative information.

  5. Hi all, I'm new on here so I hope this is the right place for this. I've been trail riding for the past year on my 1973 Honda SL125 but have also been messing around doing the odd bit of trial riding. It's something that I really do like doing but I can't force myself to sell my SL to buy a more trial orientated bike. I know that the turning circle is a bit more limited than say then TL125 and the foot pegs are slightly lower that trial bikes but what the heck Does anyone know of any trial events in or around East Anglia that cater for classic/twinshock bikes that I could enter for. Would really like to put my hand to a bit of competitive riding Thanks very much, …

Rough Holden Farm This venue which is located on the outskirts of Silsden has been used as a practice venue for over 10 years -pre foot & mouth. The venue could be lost as a practice venue in the near future unless Ian Boothman (Landowner) can provide evidence that people have used the ground on a ad hoc basis. He requires evidence that you the trial rider have used the venue over the last 10 years to practice on. All he requires is a letter stating who you are and a statement that you have used the venue for practice. You can e-mail him via Peter at peter@bradfordtrials.org or a direct letter to Ian at: Ian Boothman Rough Holden Farm, Sislden, Keighley, BD20 0ZS …

Myself and my brother were very fortunate to compete in the 5th Annual Aberfeldy 2 day trial on the 17th and 18th July 1982 on the year when they allowed a youth class. As well as a fantastic experience for 2 young teens (we lived in Bristol so a trip to Scotland was just incredible) it was one of those competitions that was a great learning excercise. The event was held by the Forfar and District Motor Club Ltd Last week my brother showed me a copy of the original program with the adult and youth listings but we are unable to track down a set of the results. If anyone has a copy (I know its a long shot), it would be really appreciated.

have just got a vee rubber radial 400 x 18,will fit it next week at see how it performs on 4th dec club trial.it is an exact copy of a michelin x11,apart from the tread pattern on top of the knobs.the compound seems ok and is only very slightly harder than the x11 but hardly any,the knobs twist easy but the x11 is still a little bit easier to turn but it could be the cold weather. not bad for

With the camera that is. We went of to do a wobbler over at Royal Tunbridge Wells today. I need to get some admin done, so will just post up pics mainly. Thanks to Tom for taking the photos, and running around the fields. I had not ridden or even started the bike for about 10 weeks now. Nice place. Sections were not all easy. There is a fair amount of mud, water, so the bikes and we were dirty pretty soon. First time I got bogged down and had to walk the bike out. I then went around and did it again, and blasted through and actually cleared it easily. Tom did his whole Papparazzi thing all day, looking for more than just the obvious in the pis he took. …
