Baldilocks, if Ishy finds this he'll try selling it back to you. http://www.trialscentral.com/classifieds/d...php?siteid=7635 What's anybody else found whilst out on the moors? I've a pair of pliers & a really nice pump, both were found in the middle of nowhere.

Originally a reliability trial, one point for footing (on hill sections) was introduced in 1931. Does anyone know when a contemporary scoring system was introduced and when the emphasis on reliability was dropped?

Ah with all the nice snow around prep for the SSDT has probably been hampered for most. Well by the time the snow has gone the local council might just be hampering us during the trial this year, see link below. http://www.lochaber-news.co.uk/news/fullst..._motorists.html This was in the local paper today GREAT!

With the 2010 Scottish literally just days away, I've made a couple of changes to the TC forums. Firstly, I've split the normal SSDT forum out from the General forums and given it it's own category up top and more prominent for the duration of the Trial. Secondly, and this is pretty cool (if you're a geek like me ) you'll notice a seperate forum called "SSDT News Feed". We now have a little software "robot" watching the SSDT website. Whenever the organisers post an update to the SSDT website a new Topic will be created in the SSDT News Feed Forum with a summary of that update and a link that will take you to the full article on the SSDT site. Users will be able to pos…

Friday from a spectators point of view is, in my opinion, the best day of the SSDT. It's a "must-do" in my book. The majority of sections are pretty close to the road and you get the awesome drive round Moidart where the views are absolutely stunning. Meandering round this year, I stopped off and took some shots I've stitched together to give some idea of what it's like out there. It doesn't really do it justice, but if you've never been, take a look at this panorama. (1.3MB so dial-up users beware).

Courtesy of Shirty. This is also on the front page. Gas Gas Pro SSDT check list. 1. Check spokes in both front & rear wheels for tightness as they may have worked loose since first being checked. 2. Fit new MICHELIN tyres on the front and back. The heat generated on the road destroys tyres and only Michelins stand the abuse. You can get the whole week out of one rear tyre but we recommend using two. We also recommend using a thicker Enduro inner tube in the front. 3. Repack your silencer with some good quality packing wool. (We recommend SILENTSPORT). It

I always enjoy viewing the daily results at SSDT.org, as the books are in and posted by the time I get off work! As I go through the list again this year, couple of folk stand out in my mind as regular friends here on TC. Our top Spanish lad, Carlos Casas finished another year nicely in spot 77! With a good last two days he really advanced as I recall. Only got beat by one girl this year with Emma B. in spot 46. We still love you man! How do you do it? Chris Pearson, tech advisor, did the deal this year with great result at spot 23, just behind Ricky Wiggins (who must be half his age)! Great job man! Another great finish for Dougie, lots of respect there, and for all …

One of the news items this week has drawn attention to the old problem of illegal practising on land/sections used for the SSDT. This jeopardises the event and the Club are rightly concerned about. Once again, the selfish few threaten the enjoyment of thousands (riders and spectators on holidays). Surely it can't be too difficult to scare off/catch the perpetrators?? They must be locals (Lochaber area or slightly beyond) because nobody is going to drive from even the North of England to do this, let alone those from south of Birmingham...!

Was in my local last night and spotted a beer mat advertising a Scottish brewery. The slogan on it would make a perfect slogan for the Scottish: "It's not rain, just beer you haven't drunk yet"

Is it true that you trash a brand new bike in just one SSDT, or are there trialist who get away with it? Several dutch rider who, in the far past , did the ssdt mentioned this. I can see why it isn't that nice for a trials bike to do 200km for 6 days. Haven seen my Pro's gear box i can state it isn't made for 1200km hard labour.

After riding Beta's in Scotland for the last 6 six and had excellent support from Lampkins I am riding a 4RT this year. Does anyone know if there will be any support for Montesa riders this year in the parc ferme? Pidcocks are no longer the importers and I have heard rumours that Craigs Motorcycles will not be in Scotland. Those of you that know me will know that JLI have got me out of some serious trouble in the past!!! Being a Southerner I tend to crash through the rocks towards the end of the week lol. Has anybody else heard any news? See you in May!!! Cheers Tony

Hi there! 🙂 I'm from Germany and will take part at the SSDT with a friend both as newbies. We got some information from another German rider who took part last year but it would be great to get some information from experienced SSDT riders. 😊 So first question at this point.. Is it possible to camp in a van at the paddock or close to the paddock? Thanks a lot in advance, mates! 🙂
