Started trials at 24 - so I’m only doing it for fun but I would like to compete some prestigious trials in a few years to come (been riding a year and a bit) i definitly want to have a go In the ssdt. Don’t really care if I come last as long as I finish;) what sort of a standard do I need to be riding at to comfortably finish the trial?? Is there any other trials that are a good indicator if I’m ready? Won’t be for at least another few years but it’s nice to have goals !!

Here we go then; like many I am now counting off the days to the Scottish again. I.ve been participating in a conversation on f.Book regards splitting our sport into 2 ..the trick riders and the no stoppers...phew . During the course of this the issue of interpretation of the rules came up and the SSDT was used to highlight how trick riding rear wheel floating, even stopping with the footrest propping you up has been witnessed and how it should be should be interpreted. As it happens I am nowadays one of the guys making these decisions 275 times a day for 6 days. What we see and interpret it as; is a large part of the equation to provide the results, we are not automat…

I concidered making this a poll but all sorts click on the polls with no real interest in the subject. It looks like a fair few TC users are going to FW next month. How about a get together somewhere. For HLs sake it would have to be the Milton or we'd never here the end of it. Would you come, what night would be better & most importantly would you buy a round? Beware Andy never goes out in FW without his camera(s).

I've been asked to share these photographs taken by Robert Little at the SSDT during the 1970s Photobucket Clicky Link For some reason, photobucket has stripped the spaces out of the file names. Not hard to work out who's who though.

Please use this topic for posting feedback on the SSDT DVD after you've watched it. Good, bad or indifferent, it doesn't matter. A pat on the back is nice but Matt and I would like to hear what you think so we can modify our future efforts if needs be. Please tell us what you like and dislike, which clips is your favourite and that sort of thing. I someone out there would like to do a proper review that would be great. I'd ask Andy to make it a sticky along with the post telling you how to order a copy. If your looking here for that info please go back a page and look for the release topic which contains a link to the order page.

The first is the long-awaited and much anticipated Six Days In May - MTBcut's take on the SSDT Centenary. We're expecting that to be ready for distribution around the end of this month and the launch will be announced on the SSDT website as soon as it is available. The second is the Centenary book, and we can now confirm that "SSDT : The First Hundred Years" is now available to buy. Read all about it and find out how to get your copy over on the SSDT website. I saw her throughout the week and I have to give credit to this lass for winning the Ladies trophy. She beat the reigning Ladies World Champion - Iris Kramer and also Maria Conway. Donna's a tiny wee lass who you'd never think could hike a bike round the Scottish for six days, but she did. Not only that, but she was always cheerful and had time for a laugh and a bit of banter. She does, however, need some work on her press presentation

Right, I'm back home with all the footage. I'll be editing it down over the coming weeks and should have the DVD complete and available soon after. Keep an eye out here for more news. Again this year this will be a non profit making enterprise with prices covering only production cost and P&P.

For those of you who know me and for those of you who don't I have competed in the SSDT.........24 times??? Did I put my entry in for 2008........................No however I did fill it out twice it was touch and go whether I should ride again Over the last few years I have been thinking, maybe I should call it a day, yes I am getting older and find each year tougher (not as tough as the 90's), but there were several other reasons for me not entering. Now I know some of you like reading stories so I will tell you a bit about my 24 years!! Back in 1983 I had just finised my basic training for Her Majestys Armed Forces, being quite a competent skier I got posted to on…

Anybody else seen the riding number list for this years SSDT? http://www.ssdt.org/images/stories/2014Documents/2014%20Riding%20Published.pdf Dougie (130) is down as riding a '0'. Is this just a very unfortunate typo, or a tactical move to keep under wraps what he'll actually be riding? Will this new Vertigo get it's first outing........?
