Youth Trials

For discussion on the Youth scene in the UK

  1. Hi, I've heard there is a "competition" clutch available for the Beta 80. Can anyone tell me how much this is and if you purchase this direct from BetaUK? Also, is this a straight swap with the standard plates? Thanks

Please continue with your views here away from direct line of the youth riders. Team Sam Haslem, a super smooth rider from a lovley family, Team Jack Challenor the profesional approch from a team that just gets on with the job. Team Ben Morphett, Ben was asked what he wanted to do on his birthday, go Ice Skating or Bowling, his awnser was can't we go practicing then.

I have rode my dads 250 beta and i was going to get one, But i recently went to a trial and found if i wanted to enter i would need a 125 because I will be getting the bike for my 14th birthday. Looks like one of the roads to Sidmouth has roadworks with a 17-mile detour to get around a 75 yard stretch of the A375!!!! I don't think many would use the route but it could impact on your journey. It SHOULD be completed before the Ottery St Mary Round But I'd check just in case.

There isn't going to be one. Beta cannot get any more engines and they are developing a replacement for 2008.

Clubs and Centres will probably have received provision trials calendar for 2008 in last week. Please note we have made a balls up of the Youth A & B dates ! Apologies. We will do all these again - so please disregard published dates. Not and excuse - for we clearly messed up - but as way of some sort of explanation of problems we are having - and some answers for some queries that have arrived about allocation of A & B dates in general. A few years ago now at a well attended Trials forum in Rugby - there was a considerable discussion on Youth A & B Championships. We are asked for a better spread of dates ie not one weekend after anothe ( henc…

Hi Dont know what to buy for my 14 year old. we dont have any 010s 125s in the country yet, so cant try one. We would like feedback on the new gas gas and beta. Bottom end power , smoothness, get up and go. Its hard to make a decision just reading the spec. Has the new crank in the gasgas made much differance. Pete

Just got a copy of next years National calendar...ONLY 4 A&B Nationals. Doesn't auger well for future world championship hopefuls. Whats going on?

  17. Started by vaughan,

Im not sure if this is the right forum to ask this question but here goes, How young can you be to ride a 250cc Trials bike within the ACU rules, If a 16/17 year old enters as a Youth 'A' he / She must ride a 125cc, However the rule book Page 157 at the bottom of the page states : "RIDERS AGE a) Adult riders : A Rider must be at least 16 years of age to participate as an Adult." So in effect a 16 year old as long as he enters as a "Novice" for example can ride a 250cc. Can anyone clear this up. Cheers, Vaughan.

New on here just looking for a bit of advice please! I'm just looking to get my son, who's 7, involved in trials and the first hurdle is what to buy. The Osets seem like a great idea due to the low noise factor allowing him to practice in the garden. Are they a viable alternative to the TY80? With either of these options are there plenty of trials (Midlands Centre) that would accommodate either of these bikes? Or do i need to bite the bullet and spend money on a Rev50 or TXT Boy? You advice will be gratefully recived! Thanks

hello, my son just started trials riding at the start of this year and has been using a beta 80. Most of this time he has been riding C class at local club trials. He is 14 years old and weighs approx. 7-8 stone. He is keen to get a 125cc bike but I wondered if this is to much to soon. If he did ride a 125cc would he still be allowed to ride C class. Any thoughts or opinions welcome. thanks
