As been involved with Trials from every angle, Rider, minder, parent, organizer. coc, sponser, plus anything else the sport needs. I sit here reading the list of national date provided by the ACU to our club Scarborough and District Motor Club, we at sdmc have been about for a long time, 104 years same as the acu. Is it me or has everyone who bought a 50/80 from 2000 on kept them at the back of the garage once little Johnny has out grown them, or am I looking in the wrong places? I'd happily buy a newish one that there are plenty of kicking about, but can't justify spending 2k plus for it to be used once and him decide he'd rather throw himself round like a ballet dancer playing football, despite his constant nagging for the last month+ to get him one

Hello, Looking for a trials bike for my son who is 11 years old and 4' 6". I have seen a Beta 50cc 2003 bike for sale but wondered if it may be to small. It is to far away to view and not buy if it is to small. Any advice on size of bike and engine that would be suitable for him is appreciated. He has never ridden a motor bike. If any body knows of a suitable bike for sale let me know. Also looking for another similar sized bike for a friend. thanks Malcolm

Consett club have a trial this weekend on both Saturday and Sunday at Bedburn, Wolsingham (see events). On both days there will be a kids route. The club ran a trial there a few weeks ago and it was excellent for kids right from Osets through to the more experienced kids. Banksides, rivers etc

The Results from both days have now been posted on the Yeadon-Guiseley Website. My Apologies for the format but that's how they were supplied. You can't see how bad the course was in this format unfortunately. Still I can say that the section descriptions in TMX were badly flawed. The Rain had been intermittant but very heavy making the banks soft and slippy. The first section for example was new for this year and how both Jack Shepard and Richard Sadler escaped without wrist injuries I don't know. The slither down the banking to a 3 to four foot vertical drop onto a rocky stream bed was dangerous. Especially when the boulder in the bottom was taken into account. The ob…

Hi guys I'm looking for a helmet for my 4yr old son ... His head size at 55cm is big enough for a S or XS adult lid but I was worried it might be a bit heavy for him ...been looking at the Spada and Wulf lids ... Can anyone recommend a lid that they have used with a child of same age Thanks Phil

Hi, My 9 year old is taking an interest in trials and I'd like to get him started on a reasonably priced, geared bike. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

There sure are a lot of cheap xr70s etc out there. Anybody go old school and adapt one for a beginner trialer? It seems to me like the venerably TY80 wasn't far from a trail bike. I'm a pretty good welder so I'm not afraid to move pegs or even change neck angle. Just looking to give an 8-year-old a bit of a feeling of a trials bike on a budget. It seems to me a grunty 4 stroke would be a good introduction.

Since we're hopefully heading off to the UEM round in Spain, does anyone know the cheapest way to get across the channel? A rubber dinghy is out as we can't fit the van and caravan into one. I've managed to get some reasonable quotes but I'll bet some Yorkshireman has probably managed better!
