Hi, I'm thinking of taking my lad to the Youth A & B National Trial at Dob Park on 19th Feb. I know it's near Otley but can anyone be a tad more specific on exactly where it is. Is anyone here riding ... we'll look out for you. Anyone been to watch it before ? Is it really good ? When does it start ? Should we aim for the start ? When is it likely to finish ? should we aim to get there later in the day ?

Due to the heavy rain making the car park impossible to use, the Stratford-Upon-Avon Club trial will now be at Saintbury Quarry and not Top Farm as advertised. Saintbury Quarry is just three miles from the original venue and will be signposted from the A44 at the top of Fish Hill near Broadway. Sorry for the inconvenience, please pass the word around. Pete

Hello, I hope this is the correct sub-forum to post this question. I'm the mechanic for my son's 2007 Gas Gas TXT 70 trials bike. The engine is kind of a one-off in that it was made by Franco Morini. The engine is 72cc (47mm x 40mm stroke) liquid cooled with a hydraulic clutch. I believe the engine derived from the Franco Morini MC65. The cylinder is an iron bore unit from Metrakit. I could not ID the piston. I am hoping to over-bore the cylinder to 80cc (50mm x 40mm stroke). One piston which "looks" reasonable is the Polini 204.0829A. This piston is compatible with something called a "Derbi Senda", and when cylinder kits were available for that bike (Italkit use…

Castleside trials club will be running a kids trial alongside it's main trial this Sunday at Bedburn near Wolsingham. All levels will be cated for from very beginners upover. The routes will also cater for all bikes from Osets up to 125's. There will be plenty of practice time so the kids get confident then we will run a trial. The venue is excellent for kids with plenty of space, rivers etc etc - good traditional trials land for the kids to learn on. Cost is only £5, for that the kids get some practice, a trial, then as much practice after the trial as they want. Bring them along and have some fun cheers John

This Sunday (30th) Consett Club will be putting a 'practice day' for the kids, running at Butsfield along with the main trial. Most of the kids have new shiny bikes off Santa , so we have decided to let them get used to them with a practice day rather than a trial. Any kids, any abilities are welcome, and if your youngster is new to trials, bring them along for a practice and have a chat about bringing them along next year. We will set a few sections out that they can have a go at, with no pressure or competition - just lots of fun . Look forward to seeing you all on Sunday - get the kids involved - we have a good bunch of kids who will welcome anyone new. cheers…

Hi My son has just turned 14 and wants to start trials. We live newr to Nash Mills site and I have a Beta tr 33 myself. its obviously to big and heavy for him to start and ride properly, and I have been considering a Beta 80 or Beta 125. My son is about 5ft tall and lightly built. Can anyone let me know if the 80cc will suit him or if we should go for a 125? Many thanks Dave

All an earlier post discussed some mods to a Beta rev 80, i wondered if anyone had some more detail on these. [*]Modification to the front pipe [*]what should i set the squish thickness to? [*]opening the airbox inlet apertures [*]fitting a rear shock from another Beta [*]what weight fork oil do people use? lastly, what is the average piston life?? or do you just replace when it shows piston slap.
