Hi, I'm trying to get an age related registration plate for my 1976 TL250 Honda and I've come across a stumbling block. I need a Nova reference number. I bought the bike about 4 years ago from a shop on eBay and I imagine it's been imported from America but I can't find my receipt. Has anyone had any experience with this? All the forms I can find on the HMRC website seem to point to the importer to apply for the Nova declaration. I phoned the HMRC helpline and they told me I need to fill out another form but that asked for a previous registration number......which it's never been registered so doesn't have one. This doesn't seem like it's going to be easy. …

Anyone have a suggestion for buying all the bits and pieces for making your own, very high quality, controll cables? I have a need to create my own cables for some custom bike projects but everyone I contact wants me to send them my old cables and they will build a new one from it. I have no old cables to send. In fact no cable exists for these bikes. Thats why I just want parts. Any info. would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Aaron

Hi I have a bantam - b175 engine running mikuni carb and electrex world ignition. Starts ok, bottom end is not bad (a little boggy), but the main problem is overrun. Open the throttle and Revs out but when the throttle is shut takes a good 3-4 seconds to drop revs to Tickover - but will Tickover ok. Any thoughts Cheers John

Anybody Done the 2 Day Arbecey Classic Trial. Heres a small write up i found,it seems like the real deal. 2 DAYS OF Arbecey: International Classic Trial. 21 & 22 Août 2010. Organised by the Club TRAIL 70 Classic, the third trial of Arbecey was an unexpected success. Indeed, nearly 150 pilots from eight European nations, participated in this event, now in its 3rd edition, more than double that in the 2009 edition. For the occasion, the organizers offered a program consisting of, with, on Saturday, a journey of 15 km and 12 non-stop areas, and on Sunday, a journey of 34 km and 20 non-stop areas, formula one more accustomed to meet in the current trials. Are…

Hello all, I recently bought a Royal Enfield Crusader 250 which I am going to make a trials bike of. Mechanical stuff I am fine with but am a complete dunce when it comes to electrics. What I want to do is convert the electrical system so that the engine provides its` own sparks. There are 3 wires coming from the back of the engine that originate at the alternator, can any of you please tell me how to wire things things up so that a battery is not needed. I have the rectifier but no clue as to where to start or what to do. Any help would be great.

just wondering how old does a bike have to be, to enter it into a classic trials, i ask this because although i like the newer machines and prefer to ride them, I would love to buy a bultaco 340 from around the 80s as a project, i used to ride one about 30 years ago and loved every minuet of it. regards Tony

Hi , I have got a contact with a guy who has 4 bikes for sale , 3 of which are DOT bikes, now I know nothing about them and have sketchy info . He says one is a Samba that was only made for a year and another has Banana forks . So the question is are they desirable to trials riders and are they reliable for road users as I may wont one for road use . Thanks for any help in advance . Cheers Allan .

Hi - I am reasonably new to the world of trials riding at the age of 14; and since buying (with the help of my parent) a twin shock Honda 125cc trials bike it seems a little underpowered. Baring in mind I'm not the smallest of teenagers I was wondering if i could upgrade to a 150cc Fantic 200? The Honda needs a few things doing to it and it could cost around £500 to get right, would it be worth upgrading to a Fantic 200 (If I am able to) or would it be worth getting my bike properly working? Thanks, Dougie
