Just picked up a 07 Rev3 270...bike was sold in "excellent condition" , but, I still have to go thru the minor easy stuff and glad I did. I was going to swap out the gear oil, gas, and coolant at a minimum, check out the electrical(since kill switch doesn't work), and couple other preventative maintenance things.(air filter, bolts/nuts torque, fork oil, possible hydro fluid flush, brake pad inspection/etc) I read about the magnesium covers getting corroded, so, the cooling system is the first thing I checked. Unscrewed the cap...no coolant in filler neck. Neck is long so figured it might be low. Ok, I'll just unscrew the drain screw/bolt in the water pump …

Hi, I have an Evo 250 2014 and I don't know it's history in terms of how it's been looked after. It's absolutely fine with no problems but I've been looking through the manual and the scheduled maintenance guidelines surprise me to say the least! Obviously I keep on top of filter cleans and oil changes, fork oil etc. but it states to replace the reed valve after 80 hours then again in 200 hours. It's the same schedule for piston rings...and the piston itself!! The water pump fan (what exactly is this, is it the impeller in the pump?), water pump fan and water pump shaft seal have an even more regular suggested replacement at 80/160/240 hours. What is even more surpri…

Fitted a new "O" ring on the clutch cover on my 98 Techno...took nearly 30mins to get it near enough in place then nipped the screws up and seemed ok Went out riding yesterday ...after 5 mins it was leaking ...refitted it the best I could ...leaked again. Had another go and I got it to stop "pi**ing" out ...just a slight weep. Anyone got any tips on fitting them ???? Regards N

I am currently looking for my first trials bike. My experience with motorcycle trials is nil. However I have been Downhill mountain biking for years now and have ridden MX & ATVs off and on for years now. I have found a '99 Beta for sale locally that looks to be in great condition. I was wondering if this bike would suit me? I am looking for something I can learn on and keep for a few years. Since I'm new at this I don't want to be stuck with something that is crap or way out dated. Any help, direction or suggestions would be great. thanks -PF

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned before but on all of the 04 and 05 rev 3 i've seen so far the float bowl overflow pipe has no plastic pipe fitted to it. All previous models seem to have one fitted. When i purchased my 04 rev3 second hand the pipe was not fitted and the carb never leaked. So after a few months I fitted a short one of about 3'' and it started leaking. I ran the bike with it fitted for a few weeks and then fitted a longer one which terminated at the same point as the gearbox breather. The leaking became even worse so mid practice i removed it completely and now it does not leak at all. Seems to me that the pipe is causing a siphoning effect. I…

Does anyone know of a better rear tyre for the 80 juniors as the standard tyre might as well be filled with concrete.

Ok probably an odd question but… There’s three offset positions for the factory bar clamps. Mine have been set in the middle but I’m finding my weight is getting too far forward. Rolling the stock bars forward helps (yes it’s counter intuitive) but the sweep of the bars puts my wrists in a slightly strained position. Do any of you use the forward offset position and if so how do you like it?

Well I did it. I've got rid of my 300 Raga and downsized to a Rev 3 200. What a difference. I am riding things (first time in three years) I never tried on the Raga. All I can say is control, control, control. It is a dream to ride. Yes a bit of fuel dribbles out etc but I am really chuffed I've gone for the 200. It is ace.

Hi, I cant find any info to see whether my clutch plates are worn below there minimum thickness and don't know what thickness a new set is? and also minimum clutch spring length, I have it all apart so thought I would do it while I'm here. Its a shame Beta don't seem to have this sort of info printed anywhere or that I can find any way I saw a link on here the other day for Evo spec's but there isn't anything for the Rev 3 and knowt in the owners manual. Can I use the specs for the Evo on the Rev 3? If any body can help please do, If not I will contact Beta and post results. Cheers.

Hi all went out today for the first time with the weight on and I must say I can see where the benefits are and where the cons are . And to be fair I don't like the way it makes it less snappy and run on alot and not switch off when I want it to I got caught out with this. But the only benefit id say is if u are climbing hills it's good for sure but that's it . So it comming off and into the tool box ready for any hilly sections .

Does anyone know what the float height setting is for the Mikuni SE BSR 33 CV carb fitted to the Evo 4T? I can't find any information anywhere. It looks as if the bottom of the float should be parallel with the gasket face of the float chamber (as with a Keihin PWK) but I'd like to be sure. Thanks
