15 Beta evo 2T overheated and blew coolant out overflow. When refilling system noticed white foam. Flushed system and ran bike around the block. There was still foam. No white smoke out of exhaust but it does seem easier to kick start. Betausa thinks blown head gasket. Did a compression test and got 127 at a 1000ft altitude. Does anyone have normal compression values? Any suggestions on possible cause damage? Thanks

Hi all.. just ripped them little bolts out on my swingarm today...the ones that stop the snail chain adjuster thingy. I'll try to post a pic, to show you what I mean..although I always have trouble posting a pic. ANyway...the reason I'm telling you all this..is I could see one of the bolts was knackered..or more so the thread was knackered ages ago..but I should have done something about it then, 'cause now its REALLY knackered..kind of ripped itself a nice little sideways hole in the swingarm..so will have to be welded? re-drilled? and re-threaded now. SO KEEP an eye on that bit REV riders. PS> If I CAN post a pic it will be BEFORE the damage...will try to take a …

Which way round should the impeller shaft seal be fitted? I've taken the impeller off and am looking at the shaft head on and can see the metal spring in the seal, should i be able to see the spring from this side or should the seal be up the other way? Also which way should i be fitting it from, should i push it in from the outside of the casing or should i remove the bearings on the inside and do it that way?

Can anyone help? I have a Zero 3 which was running fine, then I pulled the clutch in and it just died. Have not been able to start it since, have a spark but it seems weak. Would be grateful for any help. I bought the bike from a friend a couple of weeks ago and they had no problems. Also does anyone know where I can go to practice in northants, this is my first trial bike and I'm not very confident yet, also cost a consideration as I am 14.

Hi guys, rode my bike for the first time today and i noticed something wrong.... A)My bike doesnt fell torky, firm, and safe... Throttle response is slw when in low rpm range and has some kind of slack (not cable slack....id rather call it lag or latency...throttle opens but takes longer than usual to the engine to respond) B)Stalls when pointing downhill or when riding a stoppie C)Huge fuel consumption D)Fuel leaking (thought it was a miinor leak when in odd angles... but its not minor at all) I really think i have a fuel level problem in the carb... Seems like the float isnt working propperly and floods my intake when the bike leans forward.... Some of the gas is…

Hi, I am unsure as to what oil to put in my beta techno 250, I’ve done some reading and it seems to suggest 80W? But I’ve just dropped the oil and it looks a lot like ATF? Any help would be much appreciated! :D

Maybe should be in the clutch fix post???? Right, its an 04 Rev 3 250 and when I bought it the clutch wouldn't allow changes into neutral etc so whipped the clutch pack out and have done the clutch fix mod by cleaning out between the lumps and smoothing out the basket etc. This made a huge difference and it will now shift into neutral while stationary but the problem I have is that it won't release for ages when you first start it and that it sometimes "hangs on" when you pull the clutch in and continues to drive which is bloody frustrating. It was run on ATF (stands back and waits for the screeches!! lol) so changed on to Putoline light gear oil and after a couple of …

Hi All I know this title has been asked before but not quite what I have on my bike. the bike is fine on tickover & fine reving out of gear & fine just riding about but when I ride up long steep banks or put the engine under allot of strain it feels like something is rattling. its not all the time but enough for me to start worrying about it. Its feels like a stone being dragged under the front mudguard & ratting through & it sounds exactly the same, but its not. Any ideas please? thanks

Im just buying a 250 rev 3 from a dealer. While taking a test drive I noticed the rear brake was non existant. I pointed this out to the mechanic who said he would see to it. He said he had done all the usual things i.e bleed ,clean calipers etc . At this time he thought he had it sorted ( 80% ) Another road test and they went again compeletly. There is no sign of leakage. Can anyone help this poor frustrated man cheers leggins

Thanks to Heather for naming my new bike. Alrighty then. First impression from a section scouting ride not much section riding. It feels a lot like my 2013 300 EVO. Clutch is surprisingly progressive with no stick but pull is harder. Not surprising as the stock spacers have yet to be replaced. Handling and suspension seem very close to the ‘13. Tough to tell though as both ends are just starting to loosen up. The new rear master cylinder makes the rear brake a little more sensitive. Front brake is the same. Engine is still breaking in so it feels a little flat on top and bottom. I can feel a real difference not having the carbon reeds as I stalled quite a few times when t…

I'm just back from a ride on my 03 rev and found out it did not have the traction I wanted. The first few rides on it ( purchase recently ) where great, no traction issue, today the mountain I go was a little '' greasy '' and I did not like the feel of the bike. I know the tubless Vee Rubber on the rear is not the greatest, but I think my lack of knowledge is the first problem. I ride TS with tube type Michelin front and back at 5.5psi fr and 3.5 to 4 psi back and rear IRC at 5.5psi. I rode this morning with 5.5 front in the Dunlop and 4.5 in the Vee Rubber. By how much was I off ? Guy

Does anyone else find it annoying that you can't put your side stand down with your foot? It's irritating having to reach down to do it with my hand, to the point where I usually look for a tree or wall to stand it against instead!

Out today in a club event - 1st lap - 2nd section - fan decides it's had enough - in the last 10 weeks that's 2 stators, one water pump casing and now the fan - last 4 events have seen one win and three dnf's. Now looking at getting a new bike this week - either a gas gas or a sherco. Sorry but when the beta went - it was superb but it's not knowing if it's going to last. Thanks to all who have helped and advised me on this forum but it's off to pastures new now.

Hi, I really need some urgent advice (trial booked tomorrow!); I'm changing the leaking fork seals, I've done the right fork (rebound) no problem but now that I've got the left fork disassembled I can't work out how the spring comes out. I need the spring out to measure the correct air gap for oil quantity. I've removed the top cap and the conical plastic spacer underneath but there's another cylindrical plastic bush on the inside of the fork tube that the spring appears to be seated under. This plastic bush does not seem to come out, can anyone help please?
