My Zokes have shrader valves.....air forks are all the cutting edge rage nowadays, pahhh SWM were there years ago. Anyone used air in their forks? If so how did you get on?

Hopefully somebody has a full length kickstart lever to fit my SWM tl320, some years ago (20+ ) I replaced mine with I think one off an Aprilia TX/TXR/Climber which hit the footrest so with a bit of heat, well a lot of heat I bent it to match the original lever. I have dug it out from the dark corner of the garage to restore to a usable trials bike ( the joys of retirement) but with the problem of being 20+ years older & having short legs I cannot get it to start ! I have purchased a new one off of Ebay apparently for an SWM but the only part that will fit is the spline Knuckle part the lever is still too short & will fowl the footrest. Pictures are …

Help ! Just got our new/old SWM 320 running but the clutch seems to be disengaged normally and engages when the clutch is pulled in. What's going on ? I can cope with the heavy operation but it is tricky to ride with that configuration !

....mine came with a rubber pad between engine and bashplate (sumpguard) but I can't find one shown in the parts book? Thanks as always.....she's up 'n running just waiting on few parts to finish....been an easy strip 'n rebuild thus far thanks to help from this site and Mr SWM Martin.

Hello ppl, does anyone know if Jumbo forks ever left the factory with these overly long blue fork boots ? The boots on mine are much shorter black jobs, possibly not the original dust boots/covers. Refer attached.

Was wondering about any variations in SWM TL320s regarding the fitment of decompression devices. My Australian 1982 model has one fitted and another I'm buying does not. In the 1982 Australasian Dirt Bike magazine it has one fitted. And the 1980 or 81 model article in Trail and Track [now defunct] has it fitted as well. Also anybody got some ideas on where to source pistons and ring kits for the 280 cc?

Went to start my TL320 the kickstart is not engaging i am only getting a clicking sound as it tries to engage. Does anybody have any ideas.what has failed.

Just bought a 1981 jumbo bike runs fine for fist half hour the cuts out at low revs.It then will only start using the choke. It runs ok at high revs but cuts out at low revs. Anbody got any sugestions wether the problem is carb,coil or condensor. Any advice appreciated. Thanks JGM

Well I couldn't remember when I removing the clutch basket this morning if the nut was RHT or LHT, googling didn't help and as the basket revolved clockwise I thought well it would be LHT....wouldn't it? But before I got my windy (well main'sy) on the bugger and had an exploding first motion shaft (or would that be input shaft?) I thought I'd better get on the blower to the font of everything 'Speedy Working Motor', his Holyness and the Right Reverend Mr Matthews. I have a Jumbo 350 with silver straight yokes. having seen pictures of Jumbos I see the most have Betor yokes as in the later TL320 from 1982 on. I did find a few pics where the same yoke are fitted as in my bike so should be origional ones. Has any one got any information about changes ? Cheers Ian

I have just had the axle dismounted - damn, it was a bit of a job getting in again. had to loosen the whole engine! Now it is cleaned from grease, and re-greased. The holes for the grease pump is cleaned. How much do I tighten the axle? If i tighten too much it get stuck. I have tightened it so that it can move just freely. So my questions are: 1) How much shall it be tightened? Is there an exact torque value or is it just by feeling? 2) Is there a drawing, picture or a spares fice somewhere on WWW so I can see how the swinger bearings are build up?

Would this be the first ever water cooled trials bike?

After looking around for a good while for a replacement exhaust manifold for my 81 TL320NW, I found that most of what was on offer was in worse condition to the one I wanted to replace. Then a notification popped up on FB for some new stainless ones on offer. I ordered one, it arrived yesterday, I fitted it today, perfect.

Pulling the trigger on a new rear tyre, my riding buddy tells me I should go for a IRC locally at £75 inclusive. Are they OK on SWM standard rims? Currently running a 4 year old Michelin, that's hard as nails, which has never sat right on the rim properly, one side is always higher than the other no matter how many times we fit the tyre so I look like (yes, I know and ride like!)
