Hello all I just bought a 200 Fantic and I'm planning to rebuild it. It does run but when you set off it is flat at the bottom end. Maybe sucking air or something. Is there anywhere on the web where I can get workshop manuals ?? If not I need the following info to get started:- 2 stroke oil type Engine oil type Fork oil type Sparkplug type Specs for Carb inc needle settings and jet sizes etc.. Don't worry there will be much more when I get round to it Thanks in advance David

Hi Folks, I've recently been trying to chase a 'no spark' condition on my 95 Section. I started with a new plug then checked continuity on the plug wire and finally tested the coil for its respective ohms according to earlier posts here. Though I was getting some inconsistent readings with my meter, I'm thinking the coil is ok. This was even after replacing with another Section coil and still getting no spark against the head. My suspicion now is that it could be the stator. Does anyone know what wires I should test on the stator and if so, what resistance values I should look for? - I believe the wires are white, green, red and yellow. I haven’t yet gotten…

Some years ago I bought what I was told was a Fantic 200 with a 125cc engine. I've stripped it for a general tidy-up and found that the frame has been repaired by the headstock and had some webs (badly) welded in. The welding has (I think) obscured some of the frame number but it clearly says: FANTIC 430 DGM OM (The 'OM' bit is quite a bit to the right of the 'DGM' - it's actually past the 430 bit but for some reason it doesn't matter how many times I press the space bar when I compose this post, the actual posted version takes them all out and puts the 'OM' right next to the 'DGM'). Whether there's further numbers under the welded s…

My mate has just bought an air cooled Fantic that we were told was a 307. It certainly looks like one as it has been painted reddy orange and white. However on closer inspection it looks like the tank used to be flourecent yellow and the mudguards were blue! This would suggest to me that it may be a 309 (1991 model) but is there anyway we can find out for certain? Are there any differences between the 2 models (307 and 309) apart from colour? Cheers guys

As the title states I'm amassing more unique parts to refurbish my ever faithful 240 pro ... When done it'll be truly worthwhile . But I have one question to put to you all ... My fork sliders and clamps and swing arm have all been powdercoated recently in the standard red , I rattle caned the frame when I first went thru the bike in red . But this time I think I want the previously powdercoated pieces to remain red , But maybe the frame in something different ? It will have a special one piece seat/tank unit in red , so maybe a black base frame ? or should I just stand true to the Fantic colors .... And all the pieces for the aluminum tank on my section have been mad…

Hi, I'm new to this forum, please bear with me. I'm trying to find out the exact model and year of manufacture of a Fantic trials bike we've just bought, mainly so we can repair and maintain it in good fettle. We believe it's a 250, has monoshock rear end, upside down forks, disc brakes front and rear and an air-cooled engine. We were told it's a 1991 model, but don't know the model number / name or even if what we were told is true. Could anyone help ? We can take and send / post digital pictures if that would help, though I haven't taken any yet, just played on it so far .. It has been re-painted a number of times and has Yamaha stickers on the tank, but that's n…

After competing last year on a modern bike, I've bitten the bullet and have purchased a 240 twin shock to have a go at classic twin shock events. I know the history of the bike as it was owned by a mate of my brothers and has sat in my mums garage for 3 years. Im reasonably OK with the mechanics as I rode one as a teen. So my dilemma? Before offering to buy the bike (i paid

Hi, I am toying with the idea of buying a Fantic 200 twinshock, subject to actually having a ride on 1 first, as many rave that its THE twinshock to buy. I was wondering if there are any problems obtaining any parts etc. Also are they as good as everybody says. I am a novice rider by the way. Thanks in advance.
