hi guys , need a new piston for tx240 ,any ideas where to try for one, will probably be 1st oversize cheers

100% newbie, but old. Just bought a old April Climber, site-unseen; had delivered. Bike seems mostly okay, but the rotors are rusty & pitted. The rear brake does not work well at all. The hydraulics & pads are good and seem to be contacting ok. Should I consider getting the rotors turned or is rusty okay, as the seller insists? Thanks.

So after the weekend trial had issues with the bike bogging and cutting out after 10 minutes of riding ......I've stripped the carb I'm gonna ultrasonic it this week but I checked the Magneto see pics some rust and damp in places is this an issue could it cause my symptoms

Any links or places to purchase please? Need to see diagram of kickstart and gear select. My kickstart spindle can be pushed into caseing with no kickstart on, and gear lever just pulls out. 280 climber Many thanks

Looking at getting a 93 Aprilia 280R Climber. Are there any flywheel weights available or will I need to machine something? How is the parts availability? I had a 92 and liked it a lot!

Whats the best pads for these ? Presently using sintered ones which have no feel and little stopping power, but at least they are consistent ! Any clever tricks to improve it ? Thanks Ross

Hi, i am having a problem with my fork bearings and i wanted to know ith there has to be any typo of dust holder because i bought my bike used and i think there where previously dessambled by the other owner who changed them for some similar ones but did not worked. thankyou

hello all I'm looking at improving my fork behaviour again. Last year I replaced seals and oil , put in 260 cc of 20wt as I saw recommended on this board. It was way too harsh , I couldn't ease a wheelie down without hand shock. I switched to ATF which is 10 wt ( ? ) better but still harsh. I have since seen a recommendation of 10-20 wt in the rebound fork and 5 wt in the compression side. This sounds like a good idea but I'm not sure which is which. Is the fork with the adjuster for rebound? Also there is 2 allen screws on the top of the left fork , the one clicks so I assumed it is for adjusting rebound damping, clock wise ( ? )for more damping ( less spring back ) .…

Hi Ive just bought a Yamaha TY250 Monoshock thats got Aprilia forks and front disk brake wheel in. I intend to convert the bike back to standard Yamaha and was going to put the Aprilia forks on e-bay but could do with some help in identifying which Aprilia they are from. The bike has the original Yamaha triple tree so the forks must be same diameter as Yamaha 35mm I think. So, in addition to the front fork issue, I now need to strip out the rear shock. Again, I cannot find any information about this unit and the only identifier is the Aprilia logo in the lower aluminium casting. It looks a little like a Paioli unit, but cant be sure. Does anyone have anything useful that might help me? I am assuming that the shaft needs a pair of aluminium split blocks clamped to it to remove the end fork. There are no lock nuts anywhere and additionally there is no link between the rebound adjuster ring and the rebound adjuster rod that runs through the damper shaft. Ideas please but not on a postcard.....

just purchased a Can Am (Armstrong) CMT310 with the 323cc Hiro engine. I understand that Hiro was purchased by Aprilia, is there still parts available for these engines? Or for Armstrongs? Rick

I have an aprilia climber and from what i have found i belive they are very underated bikes. i am having great trouble finding parts for the bike and can just about find the basics. i also have found it very hard to find find web information on these bike? If you own or even if you dont and have heard about this bike what are your opinions of it??? Thanks Henry

I just noticed that the bushing at the bottom of the rear shock is a little sloppy , does any one know of the replacement part # or is there a readily available part available through a bearing shop/ industrial supply?

My 93 Climber 280 kicks back bad. I thought I was going to break the Kickstarter or my foot. I ended up bruising the bottom of my foot in our last vintage trials. I was hoping it was just a sheared flywheel key. I took it apart felt like the main bearing was loose. Took some effort but I managed to get the flywheel off. Main bearing was tight. Someone put locktite on the crank/flywheel. I cleaned that off. I should have lapped it but was in a hurry. Put it back together. It's tight now. I checked the stator and all screws were tight. Didn't look like it had moved. I put it back together and it's still doing the kick back. I tried both feet, tried when cold, when warm and …

I wanted to know how to regulate my aprilia climber's fork, it has two different "screws" or whatever they are called to regulate, one is in the gas bomb and the other is on the lower part of the spring, what do each of this things regulate? pd: sorry for my bad english
