Alright Chaps, My mate has just recently aquired what i belive to be a late 80's aprillia 280 (air cooled). as i am not familiar with these bike's myself could any of you knowledgable guys tell me what you use in yours. This may sound dumb but i am pretty new to the scene and a little rusty on this area myself all i know is what quantity to put into my montesa so if you could advise on ratio and how much oil that equates to per litre of fuel it would be much appreciated. Kind Regards, Ben Mallinson.

Hello fellow climber owners, Have been doing one up over the last year or so (full strip down) and now fully built . It starts OK and runs OK so decided to take it out the other weekend (to relive my younger days as trials rider !). After about 30 mins one of the water pipes started leaking hot water (couldn't see where) and notest the fan wasn't working, so off to the van and home. Had a look the other day and tried putting a 6 volt battery over the fan and to my delight the fan spun up. So next was the fan switch and once it was removed tried to test it by seeing if it earthed out ie. single pin to body of switch, in boiling wate…

I purchased a '92(?) Aprilia Climber 280 (purple tank and yellow fenders) a while back and found out that I need to replace the piston, rings, O-rings, wrist pin bearing and some other parts. I haven't been able to find much. Mike at the Tryals Shop in NY was very helpful but even he gave up trying to find pistons. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Otherwise, it's going to have to be sold as a parts bike.

Hi Ive just bought a Yamaha TY250 Monoshock thats got Aprilia forks and front disk brake wheel in. I intend to convert the bike back to standard Yamaha and was going to put the Aprilia forks on e-bay but could do with some help in identifying which Aprilia they are from. The bike has the original Yamaha triple tree so the forks must be same diameter as Yamaha 35mm I think. Link for image http://i262.photobucket.com/albums/ii102/D...et/DSC04466.jpg Thanks in advance Regards Tim

I just acquired cheaply a bike the seller says is a 1991 Climber 260. Its needs a few bits and apart from ebay where else is best for info on these ? I need:- spark plug carb seat tank Seat and tank for 280s are cheap enough on ebay, will the 280 stuff fit a 260 (if indeed it is) ? What make and model is the carb ? Whats the recommend premix, like a 40:1 with a decent synth 2 stroke oil ? I figure this bike will be some fun in addition to the ensure bikes I have.

Hello all Looking for advice on the best plan of action to repair/ replace my kickstarter ring ( the part that clamps onto the splined shaft coming out of the transmission). I noticed it was cracked into 2 peices . I had previously noticed the kick starter hitting the skid plate at the bottom of the kick stroke so I ground away some of the plate. It doesn't really engage until it the kick lever is parallel to the ground. Is it possible to advance the shaft ( counter clockwise ) when remounting the repaired kickstarter so it engages sooner and stops before hitting the skid plate ? or is this normal and not really what caused the crack? As to repairing the crack it l…
