The woods of Rhode Island will come alive during the 5th Annual New England Vintage Trials Championship at the Rhode Island Trials Club facilities on Escoheag Road in Exeter, RI on Saturday September 25, 2010. The event gets more popular every year, and almost 30 riders competed on the slippery rocks in 2009. Veteran Wayne Galvin lost out in a close battle with former New England trials champion Danny Allen; both riders were on Bultaco Sherpas. The first US round of the World Trials Championship was held at the same location in 1975, and much of the same rocky terrain will be incorporated into this year

Well, I thought I'd throw something up regarding the Ute Cup in Colorado last weekend. A wonderful event in the beautiful San Isabel Mountains and the RMTA people did a fantastic job, as usual. 20+ mile loops and 20 sections per loop (2 loops per day) and the weather was very cooperative. The sections were rideable by a good Intermediate (I would have ridden all the sections I saw with no problem) and several riders came in with clean cards. I checked sections with Ed Peacock each day and we saw many smiles on the riders faces who came through. Everybody had a good time and I'm really looking forward to the 2011 Ute Cup at Del Norte next year! The altitude was 8400 at t…

Hello all, Things have come together very well for our best event EVER! Some killer new sections, and lots of restructuring of the old ones. There are 5 sections in the big ravine , three run on each day. One will be used both days and it is a new natural terrain section that runs upstream over rocks, roots, turns, trees in the water.....reminds me of TN kinda riding. This is a section that has never been ridden before. Not dangerous- but long and very challenging for ALL classes. Another brand new section is a stadium style where we are riding on, around and over 2 semi loads of long 12' treated timbers still banded and stacked together. (pile is approx 70ft long and 4 …

May 16th this summer will be our first Bent Fenders trials of 2010. We have a lot to live upto to tie the Michiana event but we are really excited about trying an actuall vintage class. We will have a vintage A and vintage b class with a first place trophy for each. Vintage A will ride INT and vintage b will ride Nov. We also have a beginer class in Mota so this wont be a cake walk but we are determined to keep every metal tank orginal and every rider out of an ambulance. What is vintage you ask. We are calling that anything before built before 1990. Thats a huge range of bikes mono shock included. As always this is a party so try to stick around afterwards for some good…

Michiana Trials Riders hosted the first MOTA points event for the 2010 season. Mother Nature did not cooperate and we recieved over 3" of rain in 48 hours. Despite the weather the event was well attended with 70 riders on Saturday and 57 remaining to gut it out on Sunday. The most exciting attendees were the youth riders with 8 on Saturday and 9 on Sunday, none were lost in the heavy rains and humongous mudpuddles. Our hats go off to Scott DeBolt for helping organize and working the youth comp instead of preparing for his own Expert class battle. Michiana muddy mishaps included, David "Biff" Knapp swinging in full riding gear into the deep end of the pond, the fish were …
