A quick post from Sante Fe, New Mexico on the way back home from the Ute Cup. It was, in a word, great! They have gone back to the old format. Intermediate/Advanced level sections so the Trial is geared for the average Intermediate rider, long loop (22 miles on Saturday, close to that Sunday) and ride the same sections twice (two loops each day). 20 sections on Saturday and I think 16 on Sunday. I probably had 20+ riders tell me how much fun they were having. More to come later....must....sleep.....now.......... Cheers. Jon

Michiana Trials Riders hosted the first MOTA points event for the 2010 season. Mother Nature did not cooperate and we recieved over 3" of rain in 48 hours. Despite the weather the event was well attended with 70 riders on Saturday and 57 remaining to gut it out on Sunday. The most exciting attendees were the youth riders with 8 on Saturday and 9 on Sunday, none were lost in the heavy rains and humongous mudpuddles. Our hats go off to Scott DeBolt for helping organize and working the youth comp instead of preparing for his own Expert class battle. Michiana muddy mishaps included, David "Biff" Knapp swinging in full riding gear into the deep end of the pond, the fish were …

the 2009 AHRMA season opener kicks off at AZ Cycle Park with a 2 Day event on 7/8 Feb. Get the snow off the trailer and start planning. Friday night has the Off Road Banquet with the 2008 Awards and then 2 days of trialing with 10-12 sections a day. If you haven't been before its mainly sand with some good climbs including the "Graded Hill" and there may be a bit of mud as well. Plenty of flat parking for big rigs on a good hard surface. Tony

The woods of Rhode Island will come alive during the 5th Annual New England Vintage Trials Championship at the Rhode Island Trials Club facilities on Escoheag Road in Exeter, RI on Saturday September 25, 2010. The event gets more popular every year, and almost 30 riders competed on the slippery rocks in 2009. Veteran Wayne Galvin lost out in a close battle with former New England trials champion Danny Allen; both riders were on Bultaco Sherpas. The first US round of the World Trials Championship was held at the same location in 1975, and much of the same rocky terrain will be incorporated into this year
