2021 Gas Gas 125 Racing CDI Problems. Does anyone know how to overcome the CDI failing? We have had 3 CDI's fail. What happens is it runs perfectly for quite some time on a new CDI then starts oiling up the plugs. After several Plug changes and failing in the sections due to the motor bogging down, the only cure is to fit ANOTHER £180 CDI. The last one was completely encased in Tape and sealer to stop any damp getting into cracks which eventually happens with a new CDI. It failed too. Is it possible the rectifier is producing the wrong current and causing the components in the CDI's to fail? It's costing Championship points and positions apar…

Hi. Ive got my old 05 mont 4rt up for sale and im looking to buy my first gasgas. The one ive heard a few people mention as a really good bike is the 2012/2013 model. These are in my price range so its the one i'll probably go for. Could any of you tell me the differences in the bikes throughout the years starting from the early 2000s up. Or link me to an older post with information. Things like frame change, steering changes, suspension change, engine etc through the years. And also things to look for when buying besides the general maintenance parts like brakes, bearings, chain/sprockets etc. Thank you.

Hi, I am looking for advice on this ignition system. The bike was running great and then died. I have good compression and air/fuel. I have no spark. New spark plug. Checked plug wire and boot - 5000 ohms - good. Stator has 1 yellow wire coming from it. I get 10 volts AC from the stator when spinning engine with a drill. The regulator/rectifier outputs 9 to 10 volts DC and the rad fan runs when I spin the engine with the drill. No spark when I spin with the drill. I am guessing the above suggests low voltage so maybe a bad stator - should I have 12 volts DC or maybe 14 or more like a car?. Note that there is no battery or charging…

  8. Hello, I need to install my new bearings. I've watched Jim snells video which is great help. I'm just wondering when I heat the left crankcase is it ok to have the magneto seal already fitted? The seal must be fitted before the bearing. Can it withstand this temperature? Thank you very much. Gary

  9. Hello. After installing a new driveshaft bearing I'm a little confused about the two o rings that go with the shift seal bushing. I think the skinny o ring goes inside the bushing And the thicker o ring goes over the outside of the bushing under the lip of the oil seal. Is that correct?? Sorry just can't quite remember what way it was.. Thank you in advance. Gary

Hi guys, hopefully you can help me make my mind up on this, basically I bought my Daughter a newer bike (2019) to replace her (2015) I'm happy with it otherthan the rims are tatty on the 2019 so I was going to swap the wheels over, the rear wheel is the same dimensions no problems, but the front 2015 has 61905 bearings and the 2019 has 6004 bearings meaning the wheels will not fit due to spindle size, forks etc... so my idea is to take them both appart and swap rims round???? I've invested in the truing stand and wrench etc and watched several videos but when I get close to doing it something/someone puts me off i.e. there is a lot of measurements you need to take, it's …

  11. So I have a 1997 JTX 270 which runs and rides an absolute dream...or did... I was out on it Saturday riding with no issues. Rode it to a stop and (I believe) put it in neutral. After a quick break I go to start it again and attempt to click it in to gear....no click. Gear not engaged. Shifter returns to normal position. Tried shifting up, again no click, shifter returns to normal position. With bike off, I use my hand and push the shifter. It moves full travel with no clicking in to gear. Almost as if there are no gears. I have an event on in 6 days time so any help ASAP would be ideal! I'm under the impression it could be an issue with the top hat …

  12. Hello , can someone please advise. Is it OK to replace the driveshaft bearing with a version with non metallic seals. Original bearing is a 6005zv. The version I bought is a skf 60052rsc3. The noticeable difference is the original has metal seals where my new one has rubber seals. Is it OK if I use this one and would it be a good idea to remove the rubber seal on the internal side to allow extra lubrication from the gearbox oil? Thanks in advance Gary

  13. Hello could someone please advise me. What is the best way to remove the oil seal crankshaft on the magneto side. I want to remove the crankshaft bearing to replace it. Does the seal get pushed out at the same time the bearing is pushed out? Thanks in advance. Gary

  14. Hello, I'm putting my 2009 engine back together. When I put the two crankcase together they won't meet even with some gentle persuasion... there's about a 5 mm gap and I don't want to force it and break something Have I to get the gears into a certain position? Or should it slide together in neutral. Is there some trick I'm missing. I've watched Jim snells video but his just tapped together effortlessly! Thanks in advance. Gary

  15. Hello can someone please advise me. I have my engine split to replace the crankshaft bearings. The crankshaft is stuck in the flywheel side of the casing. I've tried a tap with a rubber hammer but no joy. Any suggestions greatly appreciated. See pictures Thank you very much

  17. hello together, i´ve got a slight problem with my winter project, a txt 250 2003 (so already the newer engine). i´ve assembled everything and once i push the kickstarter all the way it locks when it should return back in it´s neutral position. when i take out the clutch basket and push the kickstarter it works just fine. in the video you can see how the two gears get stuck with eachother. i already disassambled the the kickstarting mechanism and checked everything and it looks just fine. does anyone know what could cause this problem? thanks a lot! I'm trying to figure out who even makes these forks so I can get a manual and parts list. They are 38mm. The bike is a 2008 txtpro, but who knows where the forks are from. Who's logo is that? I googled a few makers and can't find it.
