First post here, hoping you guys can provide some guidance. I just picked up a 2001 TXT 280 and a 2002 TXT 280 Edition (from the same seller) and need some help. Does anyone have the owners manuals or a way to obtain them? Same thing with the service manual. I need to change fork seals and would like oil height, torque specs, etc. Also, are there any things I should be looking for on these machines? They've been loved, but are in workable condition. Lastly, how much rotor float should there be on these bikes? Both bikes' front rotors are loose. Bolts are tight, but there is a large amount of axial and rotational slop. I don't know if the bushings are wor…

I have a 2004 Txt Pro 280 and for no reason the engine died mid section and would not restart, Suspecting the Spark plug I changed that and still no spark. So Kill switch disconnected No spark, wiring all good no corosion on earths or multi plugs. So any one had the same problem ? or is there any body in the Sheffield area that has the same Model of bike that would be willing to try my CDI and Regulator on thier bike to check mine. I suspect its the Stator but not sure if this is a common fault or not. Help and ideas please.

Hi all Had a problem the other day bike was running like a dog. Messed about with fuel air mix, then the floats stuck open causing fuel to leak from air air filter. Stripped carb down, blew/cleaned everything out . Now fuel is very slow getting into float chamber, bike starts after 5 mins stood idle, will tick over , rev a little, say 1000 rpm any thing above that just dies, fuel filter is clean, although very bubbly when running carb jets chamber everything is fine, sprayed ethanol into air intake and bike revs out fine(not the best idea by the way but ok for a tester) Any ideas has me head wrecked Andy

I would like to switch my 2003 Pro front disc from being a solid mount to a floater mount. Is this as easy as just installing the bolts and collars that a floater disc uses?

***Update 4/7 ....shop determined that part of the kickstart spring (end that goes into the shaft) had broken off. Problem is I don't know where it's at. Bike is still running fine so I guess I'll continue to run it unless the sound gets worse. I assume a complete tear down would be necessary to find the piece now. Anyone have other ideas, I'm open to any suggestions. I've taken off the clutch basket, idler gear, replaced kickstart spring, etc and don't see any damage to gear teeth, etc. Very frustrating. ****** Hello all, I have a 2010 TXT Pro 250 with around 150 hours on it. It just developed a slight knocking sound and I'm afraid if I keep running it, major …

Hello everyone: I am looking at a new 2007 TXT 300 Pro (homologated) that seized up during the dealer prep. Apparently, the dealer did not get the throttle cable seated and it revved to the moon until it seized. It has been fitted with a new piston and the dealer will warranty it for 3 months. Is there anything I should look into or be concerned with on such a bike? Could there have been lower end damage? What should I expect to have to pay for such a bike? Thanks! Rod

My 2003 txt300 died a while back, well more like a year or so ago. Lost its spark, checked the basics & sulked with it. Now winter is here so Id like to get it up and going again, although patience is running thin already!! Its got the "oh-so-reliable" Ducati ignition setup (joys). Stator is giving about 1ohm, spinning the motor over on the drill gives around 16-20v. Pickup is 242 ohm, so seems ok? Cannot really measure the output without an oscilloscope but the resistance checks out ok. Tried two reg/recs. It had a new one for the last issue which was a slow cooling fan. Wiring checks out Earths are all good. Looking like possibly the c…

So the exhaust end cap on my 280 pro was wobbling around when I bought the bike. Took out the rivets and this is what I found. Now I'm going to hit up a welder to see if he can repair. I heard a replacement part is expensive. Any tips on this?

Picked this up last weekend as a non-running project for $750. Been working on it for the last week and she's running good now. Below is what I've had to do to it so far, it's almost done and ready to ride. I'll be doing a full youtube video on the process when I'm done - channel name is 'MrTwoSmoke'.

Think my rear brake master cylinder is shot, can't get any pressure to build up, although the pads move very slightly when the brake lever is pressed, the lever 'bottoms out' on the frame. How much am I looking at for a replacement...or can you get a refurb kit? Where's the best place to source one?

hello. I have a 2012 gas gas txt pro 300 and was wondering if there's anyway of giving it more power? I have fitted a high compression head, keihin carb, carbon reeds and a ultra fast action throttle tube and it still feels a bit gutless. I don't know if this is because i have come from racing road bikes or whether my bike is broken? I have rode a few other 300cc trials bikes and they all seem to be a bit flat. Is there anything else i can try to get a bit more "go" out of it? Thanks, Gary.

I was looking at getting an 06 clutch spring for my 03 300 Pro to try and lighten the clutch pull a bit. My plans were to rebuild the master, the slave and change the spring. The shop I deal with is recommending I upgrade the clutch cover/slave to the 05 cover and convert to mineral oil...In anyone's experience does the upgrade make that much of a difference in clutch pull and clutch action? Or should I stick to my original plan? Any advice would be appreciated
