So after driving an hour to a trial today, first kick and the clutch cover cracked around the kickstart shaft! Bike is a 2014 300 Racing. I'll be ordering a new cover, sight glass and water pump seal. Is there anything else I need to replace and what's the process re replacement (especially with respect to clutch and minimising air in the system)? Also, is it likely just fatigue or should I be looking for another cause? Thanks all.

I need to replace the lower fork clamp on my 2014 Racing GasGas. So, how do i do it and what tools do I need? Is it going to be one of those 'harder than it looks jobs'? Many thanks.

  5. Started by spokes,

Been having touble with my 200 TXT 02. It starts fine 1st or 2nd kick with a bit of choke. Choke off then let it warm up a bit then rides around at slow speeds fine ! However when I go for a bit of a climb the and open it up it has just not responded at the top end. Twice now the bike has stopped short on a climb due to 'Choking off' and nearly killed me through having to jump off or roll backwards down the hill ! I dont know if the top end has been done at all since new and I will be checking the reeds whilst the carb is off. I have a new Air filter and will be cleaning and blowing the carb out before reasembly. I'm Using TTS at 70:1, Motul Gbox oil, Std Factory j…

Getting fed up with my 06 beta, and thinking about buying a new 08 Gas Gas 250 however my local Dealer has told me they dont let you ride them! Gas Gas UK isnt too far away from me so may buy from them, does anyone know if they will have one for me to ride? Also, are there any common problems with the Txt's or are they pretty much sound? Im getting fed up with my Beta wazzing petrol everywhere and just little things like the rubber cable holder near the fuel cap always coming away from the tank, Its also nice to know where a bikes been hence why I want to buy new this time. everyone tells me the brakes are awesome on a gasser, is that true? Front brake on my beta sucks …

  7. Hi, The bike is a 1999 321. If it has ran within the last 24 hours it typically starts 1st or 2nd kick, if it's left a week it's really difficult to start - anything from 20+ kicks to giving in after 30 mins and trying again the next day. On the two occasions when I have given in and tried the next day it then started with just a handful of kicks. The lying it on the floor trick that I've read elsewhere doesn't appear to help. I'm not aware of any running problems or noises once it's started, I'm inexperienced with trails and 2 strokes in general but to me it appears to run very nicely. Once it has ran for a few seconds it can be shut off and restarted easily, typical…

  8. Hello,I'm new to the forum and trials,I've just purchased a 2014 txt pro 300 it has a stiff clutch compared to a txt raga 250 that I was able to try out this past winter. The 250 clutch was very effortless. I would like to make my 300 feel as good.I've researched some possible fixes ,measure clutch pack to make sure within spec, this is the first thing I will do. Does anyone know if the 250 comes with softer springs in the clutch ,if so is there any issue with installing a 250 kit in the 300. I'm a beginner in trials ,I have been riding for several yrs on dual sport bikes and figure it's time to learn some real skills. thanks for any input.

  9. As per my other thread, I have awful clutch drag (bike will just stall if stopped on the brakes), just taken the plates out and have a couple of questions. 1. Is the clutch pack tolerance for a Gas Gas Pro 9.75mm/9.85mm? Read in a thread on here that it is 9.75mm/10.05mm, but searching elsewhere online I keep finding 9.75mm/9.85mm? 2. When measuring clutch pack, do you measure across the the fiber pads? If so mine measures between 9.63mm & 9.66mm depending where you measure. (See pic below) If that's correct then mines far too thin on the overall thickness so a new pack is needed. 3. Does anyone know if the DP clutch pack for the Gas Gas Pro fall into the right t…

Only a matter of weeks old but I'm finding it harder and harder to start, so what are my options ? New Plug ? Adjust the fuel screw ? I'm out of options after that, any thoughts ?

  11. Started by spark,

Heya as the topic says. Just wondering because our importer says we can expect them in 3 weeks, that was a week ago. Seems strange because I check up every day and cannot find any reports of anyone buying one of these bikes yet. It will probably take 4 weeks by sea then still sit with customs for a while, so that would mean the bikes would have to be on their way already...

  12. hi all, [edit: apparently it's a contact TXT not a Pro, also it's 2002] I realise this has sorta been asked before but none of the previous posts seemed to be quite the same thing. so I recently bought my bike, I do all the maintenance on my street bike (4 stroke) and I've got a couple of very modified scooter builds on the go so I don't mind getting my hands dirty, but this seems to be somewhat of a different animal so figured I'd check with people who might know before I start ripping things apart unnecessarily, esp as the the (paper) "service manual" ..er well.. doesn't exactly go into much detail, to put it mildly. I've downloaded the parts list pdf wh…

Hi everyone, does anybody have any advice to make the clutch lighter ( easier to pull in )on my TXT Pro 250. The bike is 2005 model , the clutch is working fine with no problems but it would be nice if it was a little lighter like the newer models, any ideas ?

Hi all yes it's Nubsey again. Well we got the engine started, but my this thing smoke 200 hundred a day. I have have my assistant run the engine for a while, but it sticks out smoke like they have just elected a new pope.. \please see my you tube video. A PICTURE IS WORTH A THOUSAND WORDS. Sorry for caps lock. Any way as Max Bygraves would say. "Let me tell you a story". Bought the bike a gas gas 125 txt 2000 with the clutch side of the crankcase stripped down. He said it was to change a oilseal as it was bogging. Put bike back together with a new clutch etc. Finally got bike to start and smoke everywhere. No Bogging. I.E. revs up ok.…

Has anyone installed an S3 Low Compression Head Replacement? My 2023 Gasgas 250 TXT Racing is too lively for me and it feels like the throttle is either at idle or full on with very difficult low rpm control. The thing just jumps out from under me with the slightest twist of the throttle. It’s also hard to start and almost impossible without leaning it against a tree or a rock to stand up and kick the crap out of it. My old Yamaha TY250 was much easier to control and start. I’ve installed a slow throttle that proved somewhat helpful but now I’m considering an S3 low compression head. Does anyone have experience with them and what can I expect? Thank you so much for your h…

Had the bike put tonight for the first time in months. Clattered about as usual and hit the odd rock or two, then noticed the gear lever a bit bent, then I couldn't find any other gears apart from first and second ?? What may I have done to cause this and what may be the sure ?? 250 2014 factory replica.

  18. Started by hario,

Hi all, Im hoping for a little advice on the clutch in a gasgas pampera 250 i recently bought. When first going over the bike before riding it i had some issues getting the clutch system bled correctly and took the clutch cover off to check it was actuating well, and found the inside clutch cover was being eaten away by the bolts on the clutch basket: I took the plates out too, to look for any metal remains but they seem fine. I did notice that the plates were arranged oddly though; there were two fibre plates together at the end of the stack, plus the bottom plate (fibre one side, steel the other) was arranged fibre on fibre, with the steel facing the ba…

Hey guys. After 6-7 years I have regained the love for my old GG Contact, got her trailered to my house today so I could see what that time sitting outside had done to it.. Other than surface corrosion it all looks real good so result on that. Popped the plug out, cleaned that. Drained fuel and refilled with fresh fuel and Castrol 2T oil very slightly over 50-1 as I was advised and proceeded to kick her over.. Nothing happened, just made my leg ache! Removed plug and cleaned and dried again (so getting fuel as was wet?) checked for spark and had a nice spark.. I played with choke a little (just the black flip lever) and noticed nothing was happening? I'm not sure how t…
