I have recently put my bike back to original spec and now left with what I believe to be a Sammy Miller frame? Can anyone advise on a rough figure this would be worth? Bike is a 1981 T350, the frame has 645 stamped in usual position.

I have a 350 Alpina 213, history unknown but supposedly restored; it’s still got the original Bing carb. The bike starts after a few kicks but not with the choke - won’t start if you use it. More of an issue, though possibly related, is if I drop down to first for any difficult bits (I use it for greenlaning here) the motor doesn’t respond to the throttle, dies and won’t restart unless I give it a long bump. I’ve had the carb apart and cleaned it as best I can, air filter cleaned and oiled, and plug changed, though no further work done yet - any suggestions? I assume it’s running the original ignition setup but haven’t had the side off to check.

Hey, new here. I just picked up a model 85 Alpina 250 and found out the piston was a 76mm. Anybody ever seen this? Seems like a huge jump from 72mm. The piston was cracked when I got it. Anybody know where I can get another one? thanks in advance.

My Model 27 Sherpa has metal tank badges fitted. I have just removed them to repair and paint the tank, and would like to fit new metal badges. I am sure I previously found someone selling new metal badges on the web, but have been unable to find them again. All the sites I checked just have the vinyl adhesive badges. Is anyone able to point me in the right direction to someone who sells the metal badges? Mine are pictured below. Regards, Peter.

Over the weekend I competed in a vintage trials and a poker run on my M98 “Sherpina”. Both had some high-speed open field sections where I had the bike WFO in 5th gear. Twice the bike began to miss and sputter at full throttle. Changing the spark plug fixed the issue. Looking for an answer I discovered lead-fouling of spark plugs. This is more common in aviation, but it seems to make sense. Back in May I purchased some leaded race fuel, Trick 110, which I mixed 50/50 with non-ethanol premium (92 RON+MON/2), for running in my vintage motocross bike which needs the higher octane. Since I didn’t want the fuel to go to waste, I have been using it in other bikes. Two of the bi…

Due to mechanical ineptitude I have one warped inner (earless) clutch plate in my original all steel clutch pack. If I order Barnett friction discs are they thick enough that I can discard the one problem inner steel plate or do I need a replacement?

was tentatively planning on riding my father's bike in a poker run but approved spark arrestor mufflers are required. the club organizing the event are very strick about it- it's state land so they have to be. all these years (he bought it new) I've assumed the stock muffler was U.S. Forest Service approved (which is the standard here in the states). since it's not fiberglass packed it shouldn't NEED to be a spark arrestor design but 'rules are rules' they will say. were there ever units made for the alpina and/or what are my options?

Can anyone tell me the dimensions of the o ring that fits on the crankshaft before the collar, or sleeve, that the right side crank seals ride on on my 199A? I ordered the parts but didn't get that smaller O ring. I'd like to find one in town before I go out to the shop tomorrow.

May be a silly question, but from all the pictures I've seen of a Model 27, the rear brake arm pivot point is fastened behind the foot rest. On my M27, the rear brake pivot point is fastened on the inside of the frame, opposite side of the footrest. My frame does not have, nor ever looks like it had the small frame arm where the brake arm pivot should attach. Perhaps over the years, someone made this modification, but has anyone ever seen or heard of this type of rear brake pivot point on a M27? I'm wondering if there were a small batch made like this? My description may not be understood, so I have attached a picture. My frame and engine numbers match, but the fram…

Hello Gentlemen, I am from the USA and I am seeking some information regarding the Homerlight tanks as fitted to your U.K. Sherpa T's. In the photo's below can you tell me what the differences in the right side panels are for. That is which tank fits what? The tank on the left has straight side panels and the one on the right has an outward bulge. thanks! sincerely, Glenn Ranz aka Alpthusiast

I'm in the process of trying to rebuild a M116 Alpina basket case. Among the missing & broken parts is the resistor (or as my parts manual says, Ressitor Assembly 85.21-217). Does anyone know of a source for this part? OR, does anyone know the specs of the original part so I can look for a universal replacement? Thanks.

The carb slide in my 199A is badly peened where it contacts the idle speed screw, I can't elevate the slide enough for a strong idle before the idle screw bottoms out in the carb body. I haven't found a new slide here in the USA and I'm not sure I can get one from the UK in time for the next meet. The slide is in good shape other than the contact spot with the idle screw. Has anyone repaired a slide like mine? I'm thinking I could thread a small brass screw into the slide to give a new surface for the idle screw to contact would give me back my idle adjustment. I'm guessing the slide might be plated zinc, or somesuch metal. Does anyone have any suggestions for me, o…

Hello everyone. I have a 187 Alpina 250.....It’s completely restored. It runs great except I need to carry extra spark plugs with me because after about 45 minutes of riding The bike starts to sputter Lose power and eventually stall. It’s rather disheartening because I have to replace the plug every 45 minutes. Once the new plug goes in it runs beautifully until the same thing happens again. Occasionally the throttle sticks a little bit and I can smell a little bit of something “burning”.... just in general. No horrible burning. I am running 32 to 1. The dead plug comes out golden brown but apparently is completely deceased! Has anyone ran into this or is there something …

I am in the process of putting my sherpa back together. I have fitted the fuel tank (aluminium) with the long mounting bolt through the front, but am a bit lost at the back of the tank. Is it just the seat that holds these tanks in place? Or is there a strap of some sort that holds it? Thanks in advance

Greetings, All- I just found a campeon kit tank / seat the other day. The seat is toast, but I can get one from In Motion. The fiber glass is in incredibly good shape and after a Caswell coating and repaint, it should look great. here's my question; If I use this on my 191 project, can I use the standard air box or would I have to acquire and earlier air box like on the early to mid 70's Sherpa T? Or should I use this as an excuse to buy another older Sherpa T? ? I haven't gotten the tank yet, so I don't know. Thanks, Herman
