Anyone had the head and cylinder off their 280? Are the o-rings for the head and the base gaskets reusable?

Got a bit of a problem with my 2012 tr280i, for the last couple Of weeks after I've ridden and washed it off, I leave it to warm Up and I've notice the breather pipe from down near the gear Lever has oil coming out of it, the last time it had its oil changed Was back end of last year when it had a spring replaced in the Gearbox at my dealers. The only thing I've done different was Last week at a trial I had to lay it down a couple of times not Totally flat and from memory I laid it down on the rear brake Side. Jsp

Have totally stripped the bike down to the frame for powder coating but still have the fuel pump to remove. It seems to have quick connectors on the fuel lines but I have no idea how to separate them. Anyone know how?

Can anyone tell me what material the headstock / fuel tank on the Ossas are made of? For some reason I had it in my mind that it was magnesium but can't find anything to back this up. Still looking to powdercoat my frame so just need to know what it is made of before I get quotes. Anyone know what glues / chemicals they use during the bonding process?

i have just brought a 2013 Tr280i and amg oing to give the gear oil a cheange... does everyone use the putoline Nano Trans (liquid Gold!!) or is there a cheaper alternative.. was looking at putoline GP10 75w has anyone tried this or any other alternatives that can be changed frequently and cost effectively... Thanks

Does anyone here on TC know the nearest paint code for the OSSA TR77 Verde please. I thought possibly RAL 6018 Yellow/green but I have not seen anything finished in that colour.

The explorer is based on the trials bike and I made the conversion.... 4 screws for the sub frame, one in front of the tank and a hidden one under the seat, two cables, open the fuel line with snap closing and you can take away the Explorer kit. Trials plastics can be mounted on the normal fixing points, for better slow motion trials I prefeer changing the front sprocket from 11 to 10 teeth. A real dual purpose bike

Stupid question time .... How on earth do you remove the ECU from a 2013 onwards TR280 ( the ecu is mounted down by the cylinder ) . Do I need to remove the radiator first or am I missing something plainly obvious? Would like to make sure the plug is dry and fill with electrical grease but it's not nearly as simple as it first appears

Anyone had their TR frame powder coated? Will there be an issue with the heating process affecting the bonded parts? Not too keen on the frame colour of my 12 bike and fancy something a bit different. I assume the factory bikes with the white and green frames have been powder coated but just checking that assembly of the actual frame wasn't done afterwards. Any advice?

Apologies, however i am new to the trials bike world. I have got a 1975 MAR 250, it was my godfathers and he passed away last year so i am rebulding it as he wanted to do. I currently have it stripped down and have sourced most parts i need (InMotion - Great service). Just a few questions, i need the crank rebuilding, is this something that can be done at home (i am an engineer and my dad is a mechanic) or is it a specialist job? If so does anyone have any recommendations of companies to do this work? Also i am still short of a few parts, these being: Cush Drive Nut Exhaust header pipe. I have a 2012 TR280 running ECU 11 firmware and map #15. Just wondering if this is the latest map update for this version or have more been produced? I used to get updates from Bob at OSSA Canada but that is no longer an option. Australian distribution and back up is not much help at present either. Any suggestions? Cheers

I really dont like that the kickstand/sidestand locks in the up position. The idea is OK, but I want to put it down with my foot rather than have to reach over and put it down by hand. I suppose I could weld a tab onto it, like I did with an old gasser. Has anyone modified this? What did you do?

Hi, just stripped the first fork leg ready for new seals.....the `oil` that came out was disgusting, thin, watery and smelly!! Is the screw always a pig to remove? (still haven`t got it out yet but haven`t tried with a vengance) The spring measures 17", is this the correct length? And how much new oil goes in, what grade? Sorry but the bike is a Mk2, 1974ish. I am just installing the updated shifter drum and new shift assembly into my 2012 - this will allow for easy finding of neutral and a little bit more strength in shifting. My question is about drilling an oil transfer hole. In the attached picture I mark two areas that are at the lowest portion of the tranny plate. Should I drill at A or B? What size hole? Oh, and should I use any thread locker on the tranny bolts? I used blue locktite last time and I nearly stripped a couple of them getting them out this time. (Torx T10 - sheesh - give me a break?!?!?) thanks

Anyone have any tips on how to hold the nut on the rear brake pedal on the TR280 so I can remove it?
