I'd like to understand the advantage and need for trials specific trousers/pants. Not trying to be smart or a wise guy here...I am really asking to learn. The trials pants seem really snug and tight to the legs and hips. I understand we don't want extra fabric for no reason, so a minimalist approach is best perhaps? Are most of the pants water and sweat resistant? Any info at all on the pros and cons of a specific trials pant appreciated. Seems a decent pair range from 80-170 USD. Worth it?

Hello, I have finally destroyed the sidi couriers that I was using, so time for my first 'proper' trials boots. The forma boulders look a good boot - any views on this boot, and is the sizing accurate? ..... loathe to buy boots off the internet and they don't fit. thank you Andrew

Hi all. Any help would be great. I have a set of alpinestar boots from road riding & a brand new pair of sidi road boots which are what i call only 3\4 length. Although they have a good grip on the trials footrest & have good shin, ankle & toe support. But i am led to believe they are no good for trials type riding. When i ask at places like woosters etc they say trials boots are trials boots. But looking on e-bay & web in general they are mostly advertised as Trials, enduro, motorcross boots. Whats the differenc & basicaly what the H--L do i need to look for. HEEEEELP. Steve. LEEDS.

https://www.justgloves.co.uk/Work-Gloves/Assembly-Line-Gloves/Skytec-Basalt-R-Gloves Although not intended for trialling these gloves are very comfortable and give a good grip on the bars. Hardwearing also. This is not a "for sale" post. I have no connection with the link at all. I just happened to come across the gloves at a company that supplies and maintains equipment at roadworks / quarries etc.

After many months waiting for the release of the new alpinestars trials boots I finally got a pair I'm now very dissapionted After only two rides ( second trial in stream section)they've started to go funny on the side and the white leather effect is bubbling up on the side , looking like it's gonna peel off After nearly a week of contacting all the relative parties no solution or exchange is forth coming Not good for two ride old boots Funnily enough the stylmartin boots I purchased while waiting for the alpinestars have held up far better and been subject too all conditions I've heard rumours that there's been issues with the new boots but not confirmed yet

I have been looking at getting some trousers for riding in. I don't really fancy forking out loads of money on the dedicated trials trousers, plus I'm not into all the colours, so wondered if any of you guys might have some tips for trousers? ...army surplus? At a classic trial a few years ago that I went to watch there was a guy wearing overalls! Thanks

I've been wearing Gearne Balance Oiled Boot and have had a couple of crashed that have crushed my foot. The crash that started my foot pain ended with my toes to the dirt and heel to the sky and the bike falling on my heel and crushing my foot into the ground. I'm pretty sure I broke a bone or two in that incident. The other two were simple crush injuries with my foot laying along the ground and bike falling on the side of my foot. Do the Tech T's or any other Trials boot provide any more forefoot protection the Balance? I can't find anyone within a reasonable drive that stock them in Ohio. Thanks, Mark

Hi all, I know there is a ton of threads about boots and I've read most of em, but still have some questions. Lots of people seem to like the gaerne oiled boots for their feel and comfort. Can someone comment on the amount of protection offered? Is there some internal ankle protection built in? Does not look like much. I'm also considering the forma. These look very similar. Can someone comment on the protection of the formas vs the gaerne? Also considering the alpinestars, the sidis, and the TCX. These seem to be a bit closer to the mx boots I'm used to. Coming from mx I'm thinking any of these are going to feel very light to me. Any feedback on the TCX boots? Lastl…

How should a trials helmet fit on your forehead? I’ve only been used to road full face lids, and my new Jitsie feels like it’s sitting rather high up on my forehead! Is this a thing? Cheers Boner.

Was thinking of treating myself to a new helmet, as my NZI carbon one is about 10 years old now, and the lining is beginning to fall out! I like the look of the NAU ones - anyone got any feedback on what these are like? Cheers!
