Trials Gear

I'm looking at replacing my helmet which at the moment is a Airoh trr Dapper, i have been looking at other helmets (yet to try any on) I like the look of the jitsie HT2 data. My concern is as there is a £100 price difference am I getting a lot better helmet with the Airoh? what are peoples views on the jitsie helmets or any of the other makes out there. Any help or advice would be very helpful.

Looking to buy a waterproof jacket. Just wondering what others have found effective but also comfortable to ride in. Cheers.

Anyone with a Hebo Zone 5 helmet care to share how they are for sizing ?? I have an older Hebo and it's a L and fits fine, but I know a fella who has a L in the Zone 5 and it's too big but when I tried on a M it felt too small

Hi Everyone. The tyres on my bike are pretty worn out. Question is, what tyres should i be buying and where is the cheapest place to get them. I'm riding a 06 rev3 for anybody that is interested.

Do any of you fine and knowledgeable people know if any of the clothing manufacturers make a Plain blue jean/trouser? I have looked at all the usual suspects,Hebo,Jitsie etc with no joy. Thanks folks..

Is the weight of a helmet significant in trials? A lot of helmet descriptions on the supplier websites seem to make a big thing of it, but I can't see it being the most crucial factor. Fair enough if you race a car and the g-force is trying to rip your head off, but not on a bike going at a walking pace, surely. As an example the Hebo Zone 4 weights 900g, and plenty of others weigh about 950g. But the Hebo 5 with built-in visor weighs 1200g. Trouble is, I quite like the idea of a built-in visor for protecting my eyes between sections.

Just wondered if anyone has tried one of these and what they thought.... In principle the idea seems great but none of the major manufacturers have gone this way. Cheers

Hi guy's I don't post in this section very often , But I just took shipment of my xmas present to self ... I got myself 2 risk raciing's EZ3 jugs with hose bender nozzles & floor mount boots . I've got no interest in the Co. in anyway shape or form , (same folks market the Lock&load), But these folks are making some cool stuff . Can't wait to use the jugs and mount them to my dedicated bike trailer .... Riskracing.com good stuff . Glenn

I stand on the peg about an inch away from the motor so the outside of the peg is close to the middle of my foot. I cannot say that it is very confortable, does anybody have the same problem and as anybody found a good solution. I had the same problem with my Sidi '' Joel Robert '' in the 70's and with all the boots including the Forma Boulder that I wear today. Guy

I'm currently looking for some kids trials boots and all I seem to find is Wulfsport which look a bit chunky. Can anyone let me know what they're actually like for fitting and comfort please, or what other options there are?

Hi, After finally settling on buying some Gaerne Lorica trials boots online I would be interested to know what experience others have. Should I go for a size larger than normal to account for thicker socks. Obviously I won't be able to try them as there aren't any stockists local to me. I ride an old twinshock. Thanks for looking. I should get a drink out of all this Wulfsport love. Finally bought a proper trials top and pants rather than use my enduro gear. Pants are excellent with padded knees, shins and side of legs where i always get a bruise....from where i dont know. I'm 32/33" and medium fits well. Thought I'd feel a prat in these tight fitting pants but they are a real help when riding with no baggyness and a better fit for trials boots....and shows off my bootie to its best! Top is on the tight side for my camel front but good on length, collar feature is cool too. Total cost was 60 quid delivered found on fleabay deals. Nice build n finish too.....only problem is I look the part, now …

As with the Wulfsport gloves I used these today at Corten in the cold and rain and wished I had bought them years ago. Size fits well too. I got the bottoms at Sports Direct in a sale for £4, usually £10, same as the top but even for £20 the pair great value as they do what say on the tin.

Been at Corten Trials Park today and it was cold, frost on ground when we left home. It also rained on and off all day. I bought some black Wulfsport neoprene trials gloves and this was the first time I used them. Toasty warm hands and fingers all day, thin enough not to notice them. I really suffer from the cold although on the plus side I can sit out in 42c all day lounging around. I bought large as my hands are 10cm across the palm and they fit correctly. Excellent purchase for £18, wish I'd bought some years ago. Tried everywhere for grey but not around in large and Wulfsport are dropping the grey according to my supplier...?

so, after a long stretch, I'm getting a TY together for next spring. I have never had proper gear. Always a cobbled together bike, used helmets and second-hand MX boots. This time around, I have a little more $ to work with, a solid machine, and the time to haul it to more events. My first hitch, is what to do about boots. I have never seen a pair of trials-specific boots in any shop. What about them is better suited to the sport. Less armor, I'm guessing, softer? I've been looking at the Gaerne oiled boots, and wonder about the big gum soles. Are they rigid enough to keep the pegs from digging into your arch? are the tops soft? do they make shifting difficult?…

Met a USAF forces guy, Sean from Ohio, this week whom works at the local airbase. I meet a few US forces guys through my job, always really friendly and interesting, great customers & a pleasure to deal with. I used to visit the US in my old job and owning lots of yank cars seems to break the ice quickly for both of us. Sean has a Montesa 4RT & a Honda TLR twinshock, been riding over 20 years and competes as an A Class rider, so I'm guessing he's a far better rider than me & better qualified to comment on trials He was all over my SWM TL320 (and gixsers) like a rash and we spoke twinshock trials and old bikes for a while over a cup of tea. Why do I struggle so much with gloves? I never seem to find a pair that doesn't 'roll' in the palm of my hands, and I end up going without again because i can't get as good a feel as without them. Can you fine people recommend a good pair of gloves that give almost that 'shrink to the skin' feel?? Scott is coming!

After many months waiting for the release of the new alpinestars trials boots I finally got a pair I'm now very dissapionted After only two rides ( second trial in stream section)they've started to go funny on the side and the white leather effect is bubbling up on the side , looking like it's gonna peel off After nearly a week of contacting all the relative parties no solution or exchange is forth coming Not good for two ride old boots Funnily enough the stylmartin boots I purchased while waiting for the alpinestars have held up far better and been subject too all conditions I've heard rumours that there's been issues with the new boots but not confirmed yet

Would like some opinions on Mots trials boots. Thanks Much!
