Is there a thread already? If not, let's start one. This is my newly bought 2005 Montesa. And my first trial too. Since I'm in to photagrophy I couldn't resist take it outside one morning and take some poser shots. Great bike, lovely sound and power easy to handle.

Hi All, Stripped (315R) showa fork down for re-seal RH (damper one) as per manual, filled with correct oil 407cc and bled air out as per manual. But now doesnt seem to be working correctly, i.e. It seems to be springing back when compressed as if hydraulicing ! If I undo the top fork cap you can hear air comming out as if its building up pressure in its action ! Ive stripped and re-built a few times now and cant seem to get it working as it sould ! So am I doing something wrong ? Please if anyone can help on this one it would be very appreciated ! Ps, looked on internet for Showa forks diagram or maintainence, but nothing. Cheers, Craig.

A quick simple question fro a first time 4stroke owner. I have just aquired a 2006 Repsol 4rt and having loads of fun. I would ,however like to liven the front suspension up a bit. I have already screwed the rebound right out on the front fork (s), but still feel it could be more responsive. I suspect the previous owner has used a heavy oil in them.? Do I need to take the front forks off to change the oil, or is there a drain plug in the bottom?

I've taken the Showa front forks out of the clamps to change the steering bearings and noticed there is a different in height of the fork tube when placed side by side, the right hand one is 20mm shorter in height than the left one, if I pull the fork tube up to the height of the left one and let go it drops to 20mm below the left one again. Could anyone tell me is this normal for these forks or does this mean something is wrong with the right hand fork . Thanks

Hello, Does anyone know what the bottom screw is for on the Showa rear absorber ? Its located beside the nitrogen valve. Is it for adjustment or service ? Also, what is the model name or type of this absorber and is there softer spring available for light weight rider ? Standard should be K8.0 and 70kg to 80kg ? Thanks

I have purchased the trp stiffer spring for my Montesa showa shock, I looked in my manual and it doesn't tell you how to remove the spring, do you just loosen the preload rings and remove the retaining cup like a normal shock or is it different. Thought I would ask on here before I use the trial and error approach.

Newbie alert ! Please be gentle ... I've just bought a 2008 model which it seems has many aftermarket parts fitted including the peg hangers (picture here somewhere) but my problem is that there is no sidestand . During my pre purchase research I've read somewhere that a stand won't fit with the extended hangers , I have also read that the standard stand is pretty useless so before I go ahead and buy a stand (If I manage to find one) what are peoples experiences and opinions please

  19. Started by 2stroke4stroke,

I had to remove my silencer and noticed that, in addition to having had the end cap swapped per the standard road kit removal, the other end has been removed and refitted by a previous owner, presumably to perform some modification. Perhaps removal of something. Does anyone know what the inside of an 09 should contain before I start drilling? I'm sure it sounds louder since I had the mounting bracket welded so I am thinking there might be packing round a perforated tube and the heat has affected it.

In the manual it says to put silicone grease between the main bearings and the crank seals, is this needed? Can it be a different kind of grease? Thanks for the help.
