Hi everyone, I am new to trials my son and I race motocross but I just bought a 315R to have some fun on and improve our balance. I think my 315R is a 1998 it has Paioli forks with chrome top tubes and a mat black front exhaust pipe. My question is does anyone know how much oil to put in the forks ? any help will be gratefully received.

http://www.trial-clu...13/montesa-ddm/ This bike tips the scale at 65 kg and should loose some more weight in the future. I wonder how it wil cope in real life but if your looking for bling this is the ultimate I guess. The fuel tank and air filter swapped places, lots of carbon parts: wheels, handle bars, sump guard... I have my doubts about the belt drive in regards of mud build up...

2000 315r $1900 Good/ok condition, plastics show some wear. no major dings or dents. This year, new clutch, brake pads, fork seals and skid plate. Last year all of the rear suspension linkage bearings replaced and new header pipe as well as new piston and rings. Has an extra 1 gallon tank, V-force reeds new in box, ryan youngs how to ride tape, another advanced riding technique tape and two other trials vids. It needs new chain and sprockets. Not sure but i think it also needs front wheel bearings and maybe steering stem bearings. It looks like it could use new rubber front and back. I'm guessing the sprockets and chain at $150 to $175, Tires $200?? bearings $50 to…

Hi guys, long time no see, hope everyone is doing well. OK, what is the current situation for Cota 200C parts, still miserable? ...are kickstart gears and piston kits an issue as they used to be? Anything else I need to know? Looking to pick one up in the near future after selling my 247C and 248 a few years back. Best regards guys and thanks for your help. 😎

Hi, newbie here, so greetings to all first off! Just bought a 1981 (I think) Cota 200 as a project bike. Needs a few things done - Main bearings, kick start spring, service items, I'll probably go over the engine while the crankcase is split. PO has supplied lots of new parts with the sale. Couple of questions, I don't seem to have a chain tensioner, and I suspect the fuel tank might be leaking slightly? Any advice/links to manuals, workshop or owners, parts suppliers, tips, info and just general experience with this little Montesa very very much appreciated! Few pics:

Hi All, does anyone know what the base setting should be for the idle adjustment screw?....worked on mine yesterday, adjusted the valve clearance to try to improve hot starting... tried it all day in the garden with no problems from hot or cold.... got the bike out today....dead as dead can be!....thought it may have been too low an idle setting as we had this once before when we first got the bike... adjusted idle but still nothing, went back the other way but still dead... then realised it was out of fuel!! but by this time I had lost count of the idle screw adjustments I had made! -As I mentioned earlier when we first got the bike my son dropped the idle down before we…

Stripped down the 4RT for a new cam chain etc. and had some starting problems which I thought I'd solved but after a couple of weeks it won't start again. I think I've got the tick over screw in the wrong place because it almost wants to start but won't quite. There is a big blue spark on the plug. Where about should the tick over screw be set? On a carb they say "1 to 1 1/2 turns out" but what about the 4RT EFI.

I've got a 1971 Montesa Cota 25 that I'm interested in selling. It's got the metal fenders and the tank is in decent shape. Here's a link to the brochure photo on Southwest Montesa's site: http://www.southwestmontesa.com/gallery/72cota.jpg I can't seem to find any on the internet that have sold recently so I have no idea what it's worth. I do have an interested buyer here in Minnesota. Any suggestions for how to establish its value would be appreciated.

  16. Started by Niro,

Hi all, I'm try to install back the fork of 1970 Cota 247 with no result. I can't figure out how to push back the plunger assembly to the inner rod. It seems the parts in the plunger don't fit back inside the rod tube smoothly. I also can't figure out what side of the internal spacer suppose to go on the plunger- the side that sits on the plunger small spring and allow the spring to move, or the other side that cover the spring. from where should I push the plunger back inside the rod- from the bottom part of the rod or the upper part (where the caps thread) Also- is it right to assume that after I put everything back- the plunger should go up …

Another quick question re the 315r... Whilst stripping and cleaning the carb I noticed a split in one of the pipes. It's the one that forms a kind of loop from one side of the carb to the other, it looks like it may be 1 pipe for 2 breathers instead of 2 seperate pipes. I've never stripped one of these before so please excuse my ignorance!!!! Should it be split or not????? Again, all/any advice welcome!!! Thanks

  20. Started by stoker,

I'm new to Trials and recently bought a 315r. Got home, fired her up put the clutch in and the bike stalled. I've since read that this is a common problem and I should wait until the bike is at running temperature, however I didn't at the time. So.... I bled the clutch. Once bled there was no pressure on the clutch lever. Drained all the fluid out again and now I can't get it to bleed!! Anyone provide me with some advice. I'm planning to strip the clutch out at the weekend, but I'm hoping someone can give me some advice to save the hassle. Thanks Stoker
