  1. Paint your back mudguard too and powder coat your rims black. then you'll be part of the metal mulisha Looks nice, where did you get the silver yamaha stickers??
  2. I recently went on an '06 Beta 125 and, oh my god! it was awesome!! I could have sworn it was a 250! it had the ignition advanced and exhaust mods. I could quite easily ride one and i'm nearly 14 stone. my mate also went on it and thought the same. We went up some big stuff on the thing and it gripped well and it pulled third really well... unreal. Maybe a consideration for the future!
  3. Got the new colley dvd this morning and - gotta say, it's good! The show he does on the prom during tt week is good. The places he rides , rides over two cannons by the port in douglas in the middle of the round-about, basically, anywhere he likes and also the show in madrid he does with raga and blazusiak is very good Worth buying it!!
  4. Grind the frame!?!?! On a new bike!?!?! thats sacraledge why are they using two different types of shocks?? would'nt the frame rust the first time you washed it if you gotta grind it? OMG!
  5. I had one of those NAU helmets. theyre a bargain, really comfortable, very nearly as light as the airoh, have really nice designs and about 40 quid cheaper than the normal airoh.

    Carbon Galore !

from the pictures it looks like they've made all those carbon bits and then hes using duct tape to protect the frame
  7. Nitjay, I have an 06 sy250 which is my first scorpa aswell. I've found when you start it from cold the engine does knock a bit but it quietens down as it warms. the dealer i got it from said not to ride it straight away from cold but leave it for 10 - 15 mins ticking over on the kick stand. Also i run it on ipone samouri at 80ml to 5 litres of shell optimax. I would be very surprised if you had engine problems. i rode mine yesterday at a road trial, with some sections you had to really thrash the bike and the fan came on twice!! does'nt pink or anything, superb, enjoy it!!!

    Jap Spec Scorpa's

had the ignition advanced on the standard flywheel and rode it on sunday. its made quite difference! it still grips the same but its more firey. i can compare it to a 250 gasser! very smooth on the bottom end and very progressive all the way up the revs! and has more top end!! sorted!! thanks again for the suggestions.
  9. highlight of the day was watching bikespace do the drop off on my dads section (11) .... surprized the mountain didnt collapse and bury everyone on the three sections below! only messin' he actually went off there quite smoothly AND had the third best score on that section on our route. fair do's bs!

    Gasgas

i saw that yesterday and did'nt understand the point (apart from it looked good) but now you said its lighter than stock....... yeah! p.s. that bike was a f***in' machine! and superb ride he had.
  11. theres some big gap jumps he's doing on the vid, nice
  12. absolutly fantastic trial, very very well organised! and the level was really good for a club trial. good job b/hills.

    Build Quality

had 5 gas gas pro's and they were all very reliable, never let me down but the build quality is not brilliant, however!!! if you are willing to spend time maintenance wise on them and also do some preparation to them before you ride them, it will be a good bike. go on the gas gas uk website and look at the ssdt checklist thing they have up, it will give you some good basic advice/tips on sealing the airbox and other general prep tips, its quite a good basis to go on.

    2005/2004 Sy

dont think the flat sump came standard until the '06 model but they're available. The scorpas have not changed much from 03 til this year.
  15. good, its been snowing all week where i live, if its dry there then cant use the snow for an excuse when the results come out

    Jap Spec Scorpa's

Thankyou all for your very helpful comments. I will try advancing the timing first on the standard flywheel like you all suggested and thanks dfwilson for your excellent suggestion too. Strangely, the bike is fine on rocks and big steps, but tends to struggle slightly when going up slippy climbs (especially with tree roots like at the wallace cup last weekend!)it does'nt quite pickup the speed quick enough at the moment like the gassers used too. I will do this and let you know the outcome ta!

    Jap Spec Scorpa's

Thanks for the info. I have found that to make the scorpa go up anything remotly big, you have rev the tits off it in third, but then it will fly up - anything! Probably looking for the same feel as yourself, but if it starts losing traction performance then that would be a shame, coz its amasing for grip I probably need to get a lot more used to it, at the moment its complety standard uk bike. As you said, its slightly slower on the pick up. I was just seeing what you thought about the conversion. The ideal situation would be to ride one i supose!! Thanks again

    Jap Spec Scorpa's

Has anyone had a jap spec conversion done on their scorpa? I have a standard one at the mo and debating wheather to get it done. Do you find the bike still grips well or not? Is'nt the conversion a lighter flywheel and advance the ignition right up? I mainley want to know if it is harder to ride in slippy conditions.... Thanks for your help!
  19. No! have not been able to find it either. Is the first round st.davids
  20. Did that start as a repsol replica or have you repsol'd it? Does look fantastic! love the silver carbon bits! suits the black wheels better.

    Scorpa Factory Info

erm....... no its just called promoting your products its better than watching some newbs ride it up a hill and stalling the f***er, or does that sell to you.
  22. used to have huge amount of problems with water getting in, no matter what i did. the best thing to do is take the flywheel cover off and run the bike, the water will condense and disappear... then silicone the flywheel cover back on around the edge. check it though regularly!

    Scorpa Factory Info

I hope they didnt develop it, otherwise they're in the s**t! few worrying things about that bike, like the silencer will get water going down it surely, also the mid pipe going underneath the carb!!, wouldnt the petrol start sizzling... possibly? its a nice looking bike though, they need a better video of taddy, freixa, kuroyama, shibuya or narita riding it like the sherco vid. have to wait and see... whats the due out date now??
  24. get busy with a carbon sheet, did that to mine and it did look like one, so much so i sold it to some tool for 40quid
