  1. Are you sure the boot is on the carb properly?Sometimes it doesn't go on fully on the side you can't easily see(the shock side) leaving a gap
  2. Certainly should be
  3. huski replied to jon kay's topic in TRS
    Copaslip works well
  4. Is the new set brand new or new to you?If brand new it's definitely a good upgrade, second hand may be different. The early Braktec stuff was variable quality, the new is good.
  5. Seems like Toby was never going to be higher than 3rd no matter how well he rode
  6. Never been that much gap between them, scoring 2 seems very questionable.Losing a world championship in that way,Toby must be gutted.Be interested to see a video of Grattarola's ride and the observing
  7. That's got to be a relief, put it back together and enjoy it.Agree with what you say, they just feel right
  8. Hard to know when this damage was done, and where's the bit of casing now?You either put it back together and hope for the best or strip it right down and repair the casing and find the broken bit.You don't want that bit in the gearbox
  9. As long as there's no high spots on the idler gear you needn't replace it .You can clean up the idler with a file, check all the other cogs in there too.,only needs a tiny fragment stuck on any of the cogs to make an almighty row.Inspect them with a magnifying glass
  10. Kickstart gear still works with the first tooth missing, kickstart has to rotate further before it engages.Sometimes the tooth falls to the bottom of the casing, more often it gets caught up generally between the clutch gear and the crank gear, which makes a hell of a noise. The kickstart shaft does pull out,and without the casing to support it does wobble about. Can you post a pic of your kickstart gear?
  11. It might have broken a tooth off the kickstart gear when you kicked it over ,which then got jammed and forced the shafts apart,The weakest point (the casing) broke. The kickstart gear is known for failing especially on a 300

Don't let your heart rule your head,go for something more mainstream
  13. One of the best bikes made, need to be pretty good to get the best from it,you won't want more power
  14. Blatant cheating to decide a World Championship and the governing body does nothing, what a farce
  15. Needs someone to video his riding
  16. They must feel that Dunlops are as good or better than anything else or they wouldn't use them.
  17. The 250 is more than enough for most,it will be my next bike
  18. Is the flap in the bottom of the airbox sealing properly? Also the airbox is made in 2 parts and often leaks, its held together with screws deeply recessed in .Worth splitting it and resealing with Stikaflex, which is a windscreen bonding sealer available from a motor factors. The reticulate foam mod as suggested helps a lot too
  19. Bought an irc as an Xmas present to myself ,it's fitted to a 13 gas gas, took 60 psi to seat it,its been fine ever since.I know others who have them and they've been fine too, reckon you got an old stock one
  20. huski replied to Jeanette Boss's topic in Montesa
Don't think there is such a thing
  21. New fan switch time
  22. Wouldn't use anything but NoToil, nothing has got through the filter yet.Washes out easily with washing powder,no solvents needed which can damage the filter
  23. Think I'd get it rebored and a new piston rather than ride it,itll never go like you want it to.It looks superb
  24. Ride a few events as it is and see how you like it.The weight does make a big difference to the bottom end response, also helps grip and makes it less likely to stall
  25. Be a good idea to change the oil now the bikes run in anyway. If you've already got the oil you mention try it,you've nothing to lose.
