  1. that'll give you 'wings' to fly over obsticals...LOL
  2. If you wanted an enclosed airbox, I see what your saying....but a foam filter with NO airbox has way more than twice the volume....or am I missing something?
  3. you could also retard the ignition a fly **** too, as it may be over advanced.
  4. I've not tried this stuff....but some one told me to try fork lift brake material. no idea what colour it is or if it works, but might be worth a look.

    Tlr200 Cdi

Hi, I tried a pit bike one.....but different from the one pictured at classic trials. It was blue with cooling fins, the bike ran, but the tick over/ bottomend was rubbish as I suspect the advance curve was wrong for the TLR
  6. I think you will find that is my bike....can you please return it as soon as. Only joking, that is a very nice looking twin, and if it's yours well done, if your thinking of buying it then go for it. Obviously a twin is a bit heavier and it's a hard tail, but that will be a sweet ride.....enjoy.
  7. hey Bud, either re jet the standard carb....or if it's getting very worn and you want a new one....get an OKO (genuine) from the guys at Mid Atlantic Trials. I can deffo recommend them as I have one on my TLR200 and it is very good....transforms the low down power.
  8. I'm no electrical expert.....but I've never come across a bike that needed 2 rectifiers. Are you still going to run a battery? as you can run them direct from the gen with no batt. Electrical experts will be along shortly to help you out.
  9. nice shots Shaken, crackin weather and some nice bikes. got any more?
  10. hi cb, I tried chinese ignition unit and genuine Honda tlr off a bike which ran well...still had the high rev misfire. Never did get to the bottom of it, but bike runs real good at normal trials revs, even good on big climbs, so never worried about it no more. been too busy building a house to pull the motor down, so just keep riding...and enjoying my trials.
  11. jc2......picture(s) of this B40 would be nice if you have one(some)
  12. stick with it jon, sounds like will be a good bike once you get it fettled.
  13. jonV8, deffo sounds like you need to retard the ignition a bit...will get rid of the pinking and help with the starting.
  14. what compression piston are you using? wouldn't have thought a de comp was needed for starting a trials iron.
  15. Shippy, watch how the good guys tackle obsticals...you'll learn a lot.

regarding the rea sprocket.....it's the latest be very careful you might get hurt set up....go figure, probably implemented by some c*ck who's never rode a bike.
  17. is it me...or did you need to leave the lights off for a trials bike...LOL
  18. lovely resto there...but think you need to ride it, not show it. :-)
  19. I use a DPR6EA-9 in both my tlr200 and xl based 200 special....never a problem, runs clean as. I'm in New Zealand, which gets pretty hot in summer, but I use this plug all year round, even though 'officialy' it too hot a heat range of plug.
  20. I'm around 90 kg with my gear on, and I got the 50 pound on mine with the alloy shocks....works great for me.
  21. back in the early '70's, my mate had a bantam 3 speed. Can't remember what sprox we were running, but it would climb anything and was bullet proof......sh*t we were kids and couldn't break it!!!!
