  1. Well I went OKO 24 on my TLR200......and it is a bit of an animal in the low to mid range....realy grunty ( but I like it). If you want something a bit calmer, then another carbie might suit you better.
  2. Nice standard looking TY....but the price is a bit 'out there'
  3. Hi Taff, some folks make the hole in the brake plate 'big', so when you fit the wheel you can apply the brake to centralize the plate and shoes....then tighten the spindle to lock it in the centralized position. Hope that makes sense, cheers.
  4. A nice thick layer of material there....should make lots of contact with the drum when bedded in.
  5. I been running a ty175 with a tight rebore at 60:1 silko/fuchs fully synth with no probs at all.
  6. I may have the chance to buy a TLR250 soon and had heared the pistons are rare. So....what coating did you get eagle8? , or has any one used a piston from something else which worked?.
  7. OOOoooowwwww, that's painful, but pretty much what you were expecting.
  8. tiz wide....I think the fronts are normaly 1.60 wide. maybe that's off the front of a sidecar motocrosser?
  9. hey bud, welcome to the mad house. be nice to get the bike finished and used, how about a few pictures?
  10. Hi Smelling123, that snake pipe on the Bulto gives the bike awhole different look....what did it do for the power delivery?
  11. I have a Cub with heavyweight forks, internal springs which I've owned for 18 years in Australia. An old mate of mine, Chris Leighfield gave me a fork mod which he had on his own original works Cub before he emigrated. He asked me not to give details to anyone as it was a Triumph design for the works bikes only. It gave me more movement than MP forks and is still effective on the bike today,,,,,,, To honour Chris's request I cannot give more details,,, my lips are sealed cub200.....I hear what your saying, but please pass on that information to someone before it is lost for ever!!!
  12. Reeeeeesult, nice when you finally crack a problem.
  13. sure has that Dalesman look about it
  14. cut it off and you will save sooooo many dabs due to the weight saving.....LOL
  15. have heard, but not sure if it's true.....that anodizing can be removed with oven cleaner!!!!!
  16. So....running that combo on my 200.....that would be 96 pins.
  17. all wiring is newish, replaced when the other stator coils were put in. many, many plugs have been tried, cap and HT lead also. the only thing not changed so far is the mag rotor.....could the magnets be weak after all these years?
  18. Hey guys, my mates cota will not run unless the plug gap is set to about 10 thou. He has changed the points and condenser....then the coil.....then the mag, no change. Any ideas, it runs quite nice for around 15 sections, then fouls the plug(wet)....we kinda stumped what to try next, any suggestion gratefully received.
  19. not heared that one before....what is the outcome of heating then quenching the disc?
  20. think there might be some confusion here between the 'engine' sprocket and the 'gearbox' sprocket
  21. you lucky man....the old matchy looks like a good project too.
  22. is it possible to still get new stanchions for the ty....mine are rooted and getting them hard chromed and ground over here in N.Z. is foooookin hard work and expensive.......unless someone can inform me different.
  23. just put a tail pipe on the one you have now
  24. MMMmmmm, I use a UNI FILTER on my TLR200 ....no airbox, runs a treat
