    You mean this...2008 model 290 ?
  3. This sounds more like a voltage regulator problem..do a search ,see what comes up.
  4. Aye,but I'm not baby-sitting Anyway what we doin' in the Beta forum?... they type with their knuckles y'nah !
  5. Have you recently removed or altered the lighting circuit wiring?
  6. Someone else recently asked that question---Torque settings
  7. This is from personal experience:- If this is new to you, like it was for me,beware of falling into ''sheep-mode'' when following instructions. i.e. I couldn't work out how to wiggle the engine out according to the manual but after a TC typing break I went back to the task and looked at it...and the engine just slid out! I had ordered the crank seals using the sizes given in the manuals and guess what?..the manual was wrong (should have got the old seals out first before I ordered new ones). And finally Esther....re-assembly instructions which don't make sense but you know what they're getting at:- Quote...... '' 11. Add 450cc of transmission oil and distilled water/coolant mixture to radiator.''...?????? Enjoy

Yes,that main photo looks like the same sensation but your method doesn't require a partner..even better. Slightly off topic but: BillyCraig ,you gave me some help with my knees a few months ago (stretches),well to give you some feedback..they're much better now.Thank you. In fact I got back into the stretching so much I went back into Martial arts again....at 41? how did that happen? The logic was..do I spend
  9. Swing arm states '250'
  10. Well.. the only white powder on Baldilock's kitchen table is going to be baby-formula powder.
  11. Could be this one.............Insurance claim initiated ???? That's rare.. a Rev 3 with no ignition problems

I had it in my left elbow for ages and just trained through it...making it so bad I had to stop using it for weeks(which made me stir-crazy)but it still didn't improve. Someone asked if I was over-compensating by using my elbow or fore-arm too much?? Then I twigged that I couldn't pull the bars/front wheel to the left anymore and that I'd tolerated having a stiff left shoulder for ages. Cue:- shoulder stretches. Exit :-elbow pain ?? The shoulder is improving but the elbow is A1 Coincidence?......I don't know or care..it's better. The stretch...warm up with arm swings/windmills and gentle shadow boxing, then lie on your back looking straight up with your hands behind your head (palms up). You should look like a council worker basking in the sun. My right elbow was touching the carpet but my left couldn't. Disclaimer time..CAREFULLY.. get someone to stand on your elbow to push it into the carpet, you should be able to feel the stretch, hold for thirty seconds. Repeat once a day It took less than 2 weeks for me to notice a big difference.

Well??...Apparently, she drove 200 laps at full blast ,flat out but after she finished a male mechanic had to park it in the pit garage for her (in-case there was any reversing involved ) ! As for Slapshot3 drooling over her ,I reckon her team relied on the same tactic that greyhound/whippet racers use...you know, not many males finish ahead of a female in season.

A mate of mine had a similar problem with a 280 '05 pro, turned out to be the main bearing/gearbox seal (I think it's an o-ring on the pro's?) . I think there was a washer missing as well ? I think the replacement bearing kit is different(longer?) If you use a strong smelling gearbox oil (sorry can't remember which brand)you can detect the odour in the exhaust fumes (if you've got a big nose like me ). It was a while ago that's why I'm so vague. The problem got progressively worse,so you've got to strip it really.
  16. Hi Paul, Mark the timing plate where it is before you alter it. The way I see it is ...the only time you need to be accurate with the timing is when you're looking for peak performance(which we're not). Retard the timing all the way just to see how the power feels,if you encounter some running problems (excess heat ?)then advance it in small increments until you're happier. There is a wide range on that timing plate and you can totally change the nature of the beast. Okeedokee, Wayne P.S. I only ever changed the pilot when I put Boyesen reeds in. Here is the last word on the matter from Copemech......Timing
  17. This is what you need to do when:- Your Gasser gearbox gives up or Your Scorpa piston nips up or Your 4rt kick-start breaks a case or Your Sherco mains drop out or Your Beta electrics fry When the worst happens
  18. I had a 2003 290 which was virtually brand new and it was too pokey (too fierce for the previous owner, that's how I came by it). After messing about with sprockets and a slow throttle I set the timing back and it calmed the power delivery .Voila!

And here Important topics, third sticky down Are you sure you've passed your admin exams?
  20. Let this be a warning to all the experts out there(Baldilocks?) who have a habit of removing their side-stand then waiting-out the opposition at the first section!
  21. Like previous posts have pointed out--comfort/fit is paramount but most of the Alpinestars I've seen have had the sole separate from the uppers.
  22. Beware.....Bike in safe, police custody
