    If you happy that the carb is clean check the points The points may be dirty condenser may have a fault or the advance system may be stuck This is driven of the camshaft drive in the head. From memory I think it has two weights and springs to advance the sparks and points cam. Change the plug Check the HT coil circuits / lead and plug cap
  2. I had similar problem on my Beta Check stator winding readings HT coil readings mine open circuited on the HT side.Plug cap. Wiring connections are clean Disconnect kill switch Mine would start and idle but would not rev under load or missfire up the rev range The spark was also poor.

  4. Agreed with above I still have the jitters and usually 5 the first section them settle down Relax and enjoy the day with the banter with your friends

It is a common problem and I have been riding since I was 16 (pre65) me and the first bike Go out with pals tackle any thing but markers down hopeless Go round with a friend with same skill as you and compete against each other You will find you will improve and become more relaxed scores fall mine did Watch riders lines and actions My skill is still there my bike is ok my fitness is not any more (Must re new the bus pass again)
  6. My 175 bulto has the later casing the middle type case are the same fitting as the gasket is common Have you tryed Lummiweld on it I holed mine at the crank flywheel This is like soldering but it only goes on alloy
  7. Drain the gear oil Remove clutch cover Undue the 6 bolts Remove springs and cover you should be able toget the plates out Watch for the thrust bearing and the push rod under the outer cover note the order it comes apart as reassembley is the reverse
  8. Yes most 2t will run backwards Should not be any damage They usually sound different Bultacos often run back if the timing was out Even seen a 4t diesel run back but not for long
  9. The first three numbers are the year /model type ie.115 Is the chain 5/16 or the larger 3/8 type as they changed about this time The internal gear ratios on the Alpino are different to that of the Sherpa If are fitting new points and condenser fit the condenser under the tank next to the coil

My Moto Guzzi V50 uses twin Dell,Orto carbs VHB24 The mixture screw is out 1 1/2 turns this sets the tick over mixture If you go to the Amal web site there is a fault and tuning down load chart showing throttle postions and problem cures www.amalcarb.co.uk the main jet should on restrict fuel at full throttle slide/needle mid range and pilot mixture jet/screw setting at idle Hope this is a help
  11. Do not know if there is an online manual The 97/98 forks are different to the99 model The rear wheel disc bolts washers and collar are the same 97-99 according to my owners manual You may get info in the forum on the Montesa part of the site
  12. You do not say what year The 99 315 has a floating disc but later ones may not The play on that model is 0.3mm-1.0mm Use lock tight on bolts and torque to12N m( 1.2kgfm 9lbf .ft)
  13. Yes BSA had Titanium frames The technology at the time they could not be repaired at a meeting and had to be done at the factory BSA were about to start there financial troubles so this may not have helped further development
  14. The montesa manual sayes that every thing is in the R/H casebut you have to use a crankcase puller and soft hammer The parts book only has Honda numbers Both mains are the same bearings

Is it just spares or some one to look after the Gas Gas If you are going to the trial at gala on Sunday there should be one of the parts suppliers there But if you want to contact me through tc ok I do not repair other people bikes I have enough of my own to look after There is dealer that may not appear on the web sites

  18. 4th gear is a straight 1/1 drive where the 3rd gear pinion locks into the output gear the one the final drive sprocket is on. The other thing to look at is the gear selector pauls for wear or damage These can chip if the gear lever is knocked If this happens gear selection only goes one way but check they may only be worn
  19. Water pump seals the most likely culprate. It is common on most water cooled trials bikes The pump shaft also wears leaking rad water into gearbox
  20. Just had a look at my Rev3 200 03 side stand and it is nowhere near the tyre is mounted in front of the crossmember on the swing arm juust behind the foot rest on the left side. The stand does not have a large foot so sinks into the ground easily Mine has bent over the years of use.( sorry abuse) The stand should allmost reach the wheel spindle

Is the manual talking about the selector drum or the the pawls Fit pawls into slots curved end inward and push agains the springs rotate shaft through 90degrees locking the pawls down Fit the gasket and the pawl assembley Rotate shaft back so the peg is at the top Refit gear peddle shaft with slot engaging the peg
  23. There is a small breather hole for the gear box just behind the kick start shaft If the gear box oil is over full or the bike is over on the left side it will leak out. The selector side would only fill up the clutch case with the gear oil I use 600cc sae 90 in my gear box and tqf in the clutch and mine is use in trials and on the road since new the crank cases have never been split and clutch is orginal

    White Frame

    The speedo on early Bultos were mounted on the front engine mounting bolt but were moved to the handlebars because they got easily damaged and they could not be easily seen when riding on the road.
  25. My Ht coil no readings on ht side so will spark at idle but not on full load Rode on Sunday no probs
