  1. gear oil contaminated with water/coolant will coagulate and the clumps tend to deposit in the upper reaches of the gearbox cavity making it awkard to flush. I've had to use other fluids in the box to completely fill it and slosh it around, drain it, filter the fluid, repeat process again. ...it takes very little water to change the appearance of the oil...also gets in through the gearbox breather hose
  2. is there so that on the following model it could be removed and advertised as a 'lightened' model
  3. I tried this but the disc fouled on the caliper
  4. depends how long you'll keep the bike I guess
  5. only a user manual and parts manual (pdf) are available for that model. I believe a Beta workshop manual was first published for the EVO in about 2010 or 2011
  6. I'm too lazy to attempt answering all your questions but I can say I've rebuilt a few different model rev3s using both genuine and aftermarket bearings. The genuine ones came without seals, the aftermarket ones came with and I removed them. I have my doubts many if any of the dealers would purchase their 'genuine' bearings from the Beta Factory...but I've been known to incorrectly assume from time to time
  7. I saw one at a trial last year. The owner told me he has had to improvise parts from other brands to keep it going. ...
  8. oops...wrong link. .try this one https://youtu.be/Y-F_BmBj9i4
  9. P54-55 It's the same measurement for all Rev3 with conventional fork rev3.pdf
  10. these bikes may end up as collectors items
  11. Could you compare it to eg. Jitsie CNC master cylinder covers and Apico CNC master cylinder covers....? I mean they're all essentially the same aren't they with some slight variations...
  12. employ the services of a mechanic
  13. usually stator fail on the Rev, less often the CDI...really nothing else goes wrong. first make sure you've isolated the kill switch as a possible fault
  14. you've done well to successfully purchase useable forks and yokes regardless what type they are
  15. the zero has that horrible steel starter that resembles a knife when things dont go right
  16. put a small clamp on the delivery line to troubleshoot?
  17. over the years riding various model betas I've noticed they all have a tendency to slip teeth when driving the kickstart through. despite altering my technique ensuring gears are engaged, from time to time it still 'cracks' or 'crunches'. a real unpleasant noise and feeling as it slips. I even have a brand new bike that does this. .anyone else noticed this?
  18. considering the Paris Climate Summit outcome, these bikes are a replacement for gas bikes. We all just need to get with the program....
  19. the spark plug requires cleaning at the first service interval..might be dirty
  20. I've found the fuel metering in the idle circuit is deliberately a little rich. But all the Betas I've had have been this way...I also experimented with this and also went back to the factory setting. getting used to that now
