  1. As i said before- "I wouldn't advise taking out the core from the mid box at all. In fact it is the opposite that you should be doing by cutting it open , give it a good clean re-pack and then weld back up. DO NOT run the midbox empty!!- your engine will eventually pay the price if you do! (this goes for ANY 2 stroke trials bike - make sure the whole exhaust system is well packed!!)"
  2. Diadora and Forma boots are both made by the same company- HTS in Italy. Forma is their own main brand (but cheaper) Diadora boots are the basically the same but better version of boot , but HTS only licence the 'Diadora' name to produce a ' branded name boot' that people recognise. The Diadora boots are not made by the same Diadora company as football eqiupment etc as the name is licensed. This is the same for trials , mx and road boots Vesty UK/Apico import Diadora trials/mx boots RaceFX import Forma trials/mx boots
  3. Just out of intrest i had a pair of NJB steel bodied 'expert' shocks and they weighed LESS than a pair of all alloy new style rock shocks! These were both used for the same bike.
  4. As posted on TODOTRIAL today http://www.todotrial.com/ttactual/index-ac...-marcototal.htm? Translated- "Today Tuesday 22 December Montesa Honda workers have ratified the sign reached between the management of the company and the Works Council with 84,67 % of the votes. This sign is the result of negotiation announced on October 16, with a view to reorganize business of motorcycles in Europe. 5. Lampkins are the Beta importer not a dealer!
  6. Yes its a 1997 JTX- I had a one new
  7. Try genuine AMAL levers or Genuine Domino levers Both high quality , but i find the Amal levers offer the best feel and are most comfortable. These are both forged instead of cast but they aint cheap!! As they say ' you pay for what you get' Try a couple of bikes with them on to see wat they are ilke if you can.
  8. I wouldn't advise taking out the core from the mid box at all. In fact it is the opposite that you should be doing by cutting it open , give it a good clean re-pack and then weld back up. DO NOT run the midbox empty!!- your engine will eventually pay the price if you do! (this goes for ANY 2 stroke trials bike - make sure the whole exhaust system is well packed!!) The best mod to do is run an modern core striaght through type ally silencer. I have been running this setup for nearly a year and you would not believe the difference it makes. Bike 'breathes' easier and has a bit more power and revs cleaner. Another mod i have done is to modify the air box to accept a an air filter with bigger surface area and fit a less restrictive airbox lid to aid improved air flow. This combined with correct jetting and the modded full exhaust system makes a HUGE difference to the bike. The std silencer is a little too restrictive and heavy , but there is no off the shelf silencer that will fit , only maybe a flat type TY mono silencer. I had to get mine custom made-

  12. In Spain a 4 speed model 10 in any condition would sell for a high price
  13. Sherpa 250 models never had windows in the back of the piston , but there are 2 small holes at the front of the piston one on top of each other about 2mm in size. Also bultaco sherpa ring pegs are at the front of the piston and montesa ones are at the back.
  14. Yes i know they are standard , mine also has the mechanism fitted in the head. What i mean is i have never seen any 320 with a working one with cable and lever fitted. I just leave this in the head disconnected so it is not used. Never had a need to use one.
  15. Sorry i do not know what the spec is here, but i have never run a decompressor on my 320, and all others i have seen have never had them fitted either.
  16. Try Steve Goode Motorcycles in the UK he has many Italjet parts - http://www.stevegoodemotorcycles.co.uk/
  17. Hi shock length should be 360mm (14 1/4 inches) fron centre to centre Use the forward bottom shock mount only.
  18. Talon make a flat sprocket with spacer conversion , www.inmotiontrials.com have them.
  19. Have a chat with Norman at NJB SHOCKS here in the UK He knows his stuff as he used to work for GIRLING on the competition side and set up Bernie Schreiber's shocks on his works SWM at the SSDT many years ago at the time when GIRLING shocks were std fitment to SWM trials bikes. Tell him your requirements etc www.njbshocks.co.uk norman@njbshocks.co.uk Regarding the forks its more to do with personal preference how they are set up. You may need new springs and oil for the Betors and nothing else. ta
  20. Which forks do you have fitted- Marzocchi or Betor?
  21. Alpinestars no stops everytime for me - so comfortable and give good support and they are only made of full grain leather , not like the latest gaerne or sidis which are made from lorica rubbish and are overpriced.
  22. It could be a WORKS bike after all! could be the very first 349 prototype !! as he states made in 1972!!!!!!!! I think some one better tell him which way up the camera is supposed to work!
  23. Its more likely by the look of it your float bowl gasket as it seems well past its use by date! or it will be the fuel float valve. I would replace both. While your at it check the slide , needle and jets too.
  24. Best tubed tyre is IRC FOR mud Michelin no longer make the radial X11 tubed tyre they only make a crossply version which isn't worth bothering with. Other option is to use a Pirelli MT43 radial wich can be used for tube or tubeless applications and is quite cheap at about
