2017 New Model Topic
Just need Beta to fit one now and the market will have only taken 15 years to catch up with the gas gas pro clutch design launched in 2002

Trial Encamp
Weather is a challenge at either extreme. 36c last year in Italy, it was a nine hour day. What I would have given for some rain that day. When it's bad weather in Scotland you simply wear the right gear. But no matter how hot it gets you are always going to need boots, trial pants, gloves, top , helmet and a rucksack. All of these events present their own challenge and I've enjoyed competing in all of them

Trial Encamp
Not that I know of but I'd recommend any of the following in no particular order Tre Giorni Valtellina - Italy - staged in Bormio, spectacular location, search YouTube for videos. Usually Aug Bank Holiday Santigosa 3 day - Spain - about an hour north of Girona , some of the best natural sections I've ever ridden. Single route trial always runs Easter weekend. Trial Encamp - see above French Four day - Sardent, it's on this week. No water sections as not permitted but with 5 routes there's a section for everyone. Reeth 3 day - uk fantastic location, great sections 3 routes Alwinton 2 day UK as Reeth but two day

Trial Encamp
Ok it's a long drive unless you have a friend in Spain to lend you a bike. But I rode the 2 Days Trial Encamp last weekend, fantastic trial, really recommend it. Single lap each day of 20 sections, yes that's not that many but it takes around 7 hours each day as it's a long way round. If you have ever ski ed in Andorra the first day is based on the ski slopes of Soldeu and Pas de la Casa. To make the trip worthwhile contact Sandra Bonet, this lady provides accomodation a few km from the start and also does trials excursions. So you could do a few days practice / trail riding in the pyrenees followed by the trial.

Ajp Master Cyclinder
Have you still got fluid in the caliper and hose? If so just turn the bars so m cylinder is at highest point, make sure the hose isn't higher where it crosses the number board or headlight. Then slowly pump the lever and you should get bubbles coming out of the cylinder. It shouldnt take more than 5 mins. If you can't get pressure it must be leaking at the joint. I only ever use the bleed nipple when doing rear brake.

Adversity, Mother Of Invention
My friends beta evo has a braktec clutch master cylinder fitted, it's a dot 4 system. Having driven over 1000 miles from Gateshead to Encamp in Andorra for last weekends trial he was somewhat disappointed to find the cylinder was leaking. By section 6 he had no clutch but we were at this stage up by the ski lifts in Soldeu. At the lunch check another of our crew jokingly said why not top it up with the olive oil people were putting on their lunch? So he did. It worked for the rest of the day and the cylinder still had oil in at the end of the day. ?

Brexit And Trials
I'd suggest that somebody who has enough intelligence and determination to look at the minimum wage in another country and decide to move would consider both wages and living costs. It must be more about the availability of work than just minimum wage. Yes people born elsewhere work in the UK, but if our resident population are not prepared or capable of doing a job employers will recruit from overseas. Football may provide an example, watched by some people no doubt who don't like immigration.

Brexit And Trials
Did someone say education was important? Heard various figures for immigration but I'll go with the highest for last year at 330k. Then I watched the leave advert trying to illustrate how much quicker you would be seen at hospital after we left. A local hospital to me had over 2 million patient contacts last year. So do you really think immigration caused the delay at your local hospital? Every immigrant last year needs to attend hospital 6 times to consume the capacity of one large hospital. It is the biggest local hospital but we have 6 more within 50 miles. How many of the immigrants were under 16 in terms of the school places argument? how many were even from Europe ? And then farage has backtracked on the NHS funding before 9 am on Friday! It may not have been his original statement but he didn't challenge it before the vote did he ? Blaming everything on a small group of population is a dangerous game. But we now need to make this work, we live in a democracy and have to accept the result. Can we go back to the nostop debate now ?

Great to see you posting on here Jim. thanks that's a good explanation

Transplant Or Not?
If you do swap the engine over you won't be the first person to do so. Lots of people fit the clutch cover as well

2013-2015 Crank Bearings
When I can't see the metal on the other side of the oil window i change it. At the ssdt I would change it after the third day, probably done 250 miles at that stage and 20 hours approx.

2013-2015 Crank Bearings
My march 2014 bike is still running its original main bearings. I think there were some issues, one guy near me had them replaced on a 2015 model.
-
Random Hard Starting.
I've been riding gassers for years. Generally starts 2/3 kick every time.
-
Bleeding Clutch...
I just pump the lever with the master cylinder at the highest point. I do the same with the front brake. But the back brake that's a pain
-
Throttle Control
It's often more complex than just the throttle. Any given surface has a level of traction but better riders always get more from it. Look at some video of pipeline in the ssdt. I'd say on this section body position is as important as throttle control. You need to maintain momentum and that is about having enough weight over the rear, absorbin the bumps to keep the rear wheel on the ground, picking the right line and throttle control. Practicin figure eights is good throttle control practice as mentioned. However to get good traction there's a bit more to it.

Gasgas Factory Or Sherco Factory?
Was the 2015 a different crank in the factory bike Dabster ? I could imagine factory riders bikes having this sort of thing but I'd be surprised if they went to that much trouble for the factory version they sell to Joe Bloggs

Jitsie Knee / Shin Guards
Bought some of these recently. Tested them when I rode out of a section and clipped the footpeg of a parked bike with my shin. It still hurt but no real damage. Best new product for a long time, highly recommended.

Grips
I use brake cleaner to fit the grips pictured above. They are reasonably robust so I don't need to fit bar plugs. Been using them since they came onto the market, very good
