I think Jotagas is bust Jgas isn't?
-
Rode a 4t scorpa, It wasnt a patch on a Beta 4t or a Montesa. The motor is enormous compared to a 2t. Nice decals and thats about it.
How many of those people wanting one of these bought the scorpa ?
-
Try scorpa or ossa websites, oh sorry they never bothered either ?
-
Having done this before and had to push the bike back to the van im just giving advice based on experience. Get the tyre changed under warranty its not fit for purpose
-
Fitting a tube is a bad idea, when the tube inevitably slips the valve can damage the rim. Also if you get a puncture in a trial you can't use a dog turd
-
In my experience putting a new piston into a worn cylinder never pays. Its usually noisy again in a matter of weeks. Get a new piston and get Langcourt to re coat the cylinder to the new piston. Its an extra £120 but its a much better end result
-
I think you are yes. If the front tyre was defective then you have a case but you don't if its just because its not the same brand as the rear.
-
It's the clutch pack thickness not the master cylinder
-
When a a bike is £5k and kitting out a rider is say £300 i cant see that the entry fee being between £10 and £20 is really going to be a barrier.
-
I think we should have a weekly tc forums entrance fee of £15
-
Check the linkage as the bushes used to wear out in a few trials and snapping the linkage was common
-
242 was a good bike, not much between one of them and a 240 Fantic. Only problem at the time was when the kick start gear failed dealers struggled to get replacement parts. If you can get parts now it will be a great twin shock bike
-
Could you put a tie down round the spindle and handlebar to compress the forks rather than taking the bars off ?
-
Just awake as ive got man flu.
-
There you go soul and charisma
-
Cascao. I did that but on the hidra ignition it doesn't work as the pick up is on the flywheel apparently. Chris from splatshop explained this to me and can probably explain what he meant a lot better than I can
-
Ive tried your world remember Ross ☺. Those happy nights in the garage cleaning drums, cramp from pulling the clutch in, praying the kickstart doesn't snap when you kick it over. Is that defined as soul ?
Not for me but each to their own.
-
BUt why not do that with modern bikes , over 50s traditional series ?
-
Yes mate Im good, im better for reading this lot.
-
Oi that was my joke about 3 / 4 years ago when Kenny started
-
Rode it twice when it was an S3 round. Great trial
-
Its good to get more participants but the original idea of cheap trials is long gone. People spend ridiculous amounts on pre 65s and Twin Shocks and now its starting to happen in the air cooled mono class.
None of this helps the long term future of the sport. Manufacturers cant support young riders as the only people with money to spend are ploughing it into pre 65s and twinshocks. Yes i know they don't depreciate but you are supposed to be enjoying your sport, money isn't everything. Where's the sense in being £10k into a triumph twin or ariel when you could have an infinitely more capable two year old bike for 3k ?
Now we are talking about a watercooled class ?
Its a mad world, especially trials
-
Not more pot hunters surely?
-
Better air flow i would guess, on the new one its almost straight from carb to filter
-
If the wheels leaving the ground its not going to help with grip, so I would suggest you put the damping back to standard. Its easy enough to hop the rear end with practice, changing the shock to make this happen will damage your riding in other areas. The shock should also have some sag, there is a good guide to suspension set up if you look at the ohlins shock set up information on the SplatShop site, just click the link for the Ohlins Shock.
Get a black tube domino throttle, they aren't ramped but you don't really need it to be on a 300 unless you are an expert.
