  1. I can only see that advice damaging confidence. Fall down a waterfall in practice as the tyres to hard and then there is a similar obstacle in your next event, are you going risk getting hurt again ?
  2. Having said that despite the chasm when you ride down here you are a long long way from last on the ne easy course on your swm.
  3. So thats a yes then ? I think it was a good idea but should have stayed as a separate event perhaps. Yorkshire centre have separate trials / clubs for classic which is great. But in most centres its not viable.
  4. You tell me Ross, if there was a single route trial would you ride it on the swm ?
  5. Lots of issues Ross, but you didn't need pre 65 to solve the issue that started pre 65 and led to everything since. You can't unpick it now but we have groups of people at either end of an ability spectrum with no time for each others requirements. More sections / fewer laps allowing greater range of sections would have been better. Trying to mark a trial out where the best riders are on the most capable bikes and the least capable turn up on 30 - 50 year old bikes makes no sense. Obviously some on older bikes are very capable but dont want to lose marks ??
  6. For twice / three times the price of an infinitely more capable machine once you put it right.
  7. If i had a time machine id go back and stop that first pre 65 trial. Thats where it started to go wrong. Next stage was incorporating a class for them in centre trials round here which became known as the easy course. Then it became pre 65 or twin shock , then it became anyone who didn't fancy the middle route. Roll forward 20 years we now have people on a 2015 bike complaining a section you could clean on an ossa mar is too hard. The middle and harder routes have progressed but the gap between each course is immense. Hard course riders try harder stuff easy course is going backwards and the middle course is lost in the middle making 3 route trials a pain to mark out. Manufacturers go bust as new bikes are too expensive while people fall over themselves to spend £5k or more on a replica that looks like 50 year old bike. The original idea was good but its created more problems than it solved, yesteryears best riders often still win and you cant drag an old bike out and be competitive. Madness. And now i know who to blame
  8. Its usually caused by the sump guard becoming bent by repeated impacts and the rubber block getting split. There is a thread on the issue.
  9. Had one in 1997 so if you have questions i may be able to help
  10. Plus we have all missed what he could earn in other disciplines. So what does a motogp rider earn or mx / enduro rider ?
  11. I got some off Amped recently, good quality stuff but not the design you are after. Have a look though

Well the trs raga rides has a Keihin for a start, not exactly unexpected
  13. you could say the same about the scorpa and the beta and for many other years the 4rt. It doesn't have to be brand new from the ground up, its as good as anything else on the market
  14. Honda were reported to be paying a previous multi world championship winner £200k and thats 15 years ago. Nobody knows its just rumour and gossip. But i think the question is what do i think they earn
  15. On the plus side the above good people having given you the same advice i did. Airoh or Jitsie H2
  16. Andrewmorpeth you dipstick! Full face helmets are not for trials
  17. Bou half a million Euros plus all his private sponsors. If you want to win the wtc there really is nobody else to hire and Honda have the cash. The other riders significantly less
  18. 1mm change in compression makes a significant difference to performance
  19. baldilocks replied to stanmet's topic in Beta
No what you have demonstrated is that a good rider on a poor bike will still beat a shall we say not as good rider on a good bike. If the sachs shock is poor it won't stop him winning
  20. baldilocks replied to Andy's topic in TRS
    Correct Neil.

Hang on Dibs was doing things that big on the vertigo in practice, I don't think this is quite as impressive as some. I do want it to succeed though
  22. Or go to the tdn this weekend and take a 4mm allen key with you
  23. baldilocks replied to Andy's topic in TRS
In their shoes id have stripped the bike measured / photographed what i needed and then if gg want it back who cares. Wonder if the electronic water pump gets fitted ? Reiger shock and Keihin carb would be likely on his bike
  24. Been happening since 1999 cant they fit a stronger spring ? All manufacturers have issues not just sherco.
  25. New sherco engine scorpa feels nothing like the old yam engine model in terms of steering. Much closer in feel to my 2012 sherco
