Dabster down boy.
No need !

We should have asked what carb is fitted first perhaps? fast throttle and a keihin should be light enough for anyone. Fast action and dellorto is a little heavier
-
Malcolm disconnect the cable from both ends. Slide the rubber boot from the twist grip end along to the end of the cable and hold vertically so it acts like a funnel. Fill with wd40 and work cable back and forth until wd40 runs out of the other end. This will make a noticeable difference to throttle action

That lad has switched from 300 ossa to scorpa to 125 ossa back to 300 ossa and now back to scorpa again.
In about 6 weeks !
And in that time been 4th in two btc rounds, best newcomer at the ssdt, btc 3rd and now world cup 2nd.
Fantastic
-
3 brits in the top 4 in the ladies class and 4 brits in the points
great result for Dabill, he could have been on the podium, Sheppard in the points as well
-
Billy Bolt 2nd in world cup Jack Price 3rd fantastic performance!
-
My wife has the people carrier version. It has to be in the top ten of ugly vehicles. However its a 2003, its got something like 115k on the clock and much to my dismay runs perfectly.
-
Is that 3000 trials bikes or all bikes including enduro etc ?
-
Sad for the riders but i think this demonstrates the world championship needs trials not the other way round. Grass roots participation in our centre is good but not at the levels of the 70/80s when there were enough youths to have a separate series. In those days you had 100 entries but they all had modern bikes. Now 30/40% are on pre 65/ twin shock / air cooled monos.
Not good if you are hoping to sell modern bikes by competing in a world championship.
-
I think he just wanted a bike to match the colour of his crash hat ?
-
Theres an appeal running on Facebook ti fund the rest of his season, you can pay via PayPal or electronic transfer
-
You can still get most parts for a bultaco they went bust in the early 80s. Im keeping my pro as i like the bike, if its worth £500 or £1000 less doesn't matter , it makes no sense to sell it and buy something i wont like as much for more money. Just my view
-
Perhaps worth pointing out that the manufacturers of both of the four stroke models above had or have financial problems. It works on paper but it seems to never work in terms of units sold, so the development cost just adds to their problems.
-
I agree timp, if we have a world championship it has to be affordable. No point the Spanish factories trying to compete with Honda for paddock bragging rights, there will only be one winner
-
Bultaco swm fantic ossa (original) all too big to go bust until someone not connected with trials did some addy ups. Circumstances were different for all but the company still folded
-
-
Better off with the proper Gas Gas raga reed block. I think there was one on trials central classified or ebay recently
-
Chuffed to bits for Billy
-
I'm hoping to try one at some point, was very impressed with my sons oset, he wasn't but never mind
-
But on an ossa no 2t being added to the petrol will only effect the big end, small end and bore. It won't have a consequence for the main bearing as it's being lubricated by the gbox oil.
-
Ty mono sumpguard was pretty poor in that it didnt stop either the flywheel case or clutch case being knocked out of alignment and was difficult to balance on as it wasn't flat. Best sumpguards currently i think are on the gas gas but even they can be bent.
-
But for any world round to be a success WE have to support it. I dont think enough people supported fort william, organisers can't afford to lose money. Penrith is more central and at least they are putting it on
-
S.e.lucas your view neatly encapsulates exactly where trials has gone wrong. You don't need a 2m step to take marks off even the very best. However you will prevent others competing due to risk of injury or damage to expensive machinery.
Its pointless thinking this approach is a way forward we have had the spectacular, lets find the best riders in the world approach for more than 20 years. We now have factories going bust, dwindling sales and fewer competitors.
Same issues at local trials.
Its not the way forward

Yes copperslip the front spindle will be added to the list of jobs done to a new bike if gas gas make anymore
