    Dougie didn't win any championships on the rev 3, he signed for Montesa the year it came out. I had two rev 3s, not a bad bike at all. However the rear shock is much more lively which is great for some things but not better in all situations. I noticed it would bounce off things where a gas gas or sherco didn't.

    Tubular frame is lighter. Out of the box there is a plastic protector to prevent the yoke smacking into the frame when you hit something on full lock. However most people take it off to gain more lock but i doubt regular impacts are doing the frame much good.

    Please do ! Some of Dabill's videos practicing look good. Dont know if the pressure perhaps got to him last time out but Barcelona will be a difficult event in which to recover confidence.

    Its not that no gas gas has ever had a problem but i just dont believe the frequency is anything like you have referred to dadof. My current 2014 bike is a year old next month and its been perfect thus far. My 2013 i bought used in december 2012, it never had a gearbox problem either. That bike did the SSDT, Alwinton 2 day , Reeth 3 day and the Italian alps 3 day. It was ridden every weekend often sat and sunday from Christmas onwards as prep for ssdt. Sure im just lucky.....

    I pay more than that for one adult and two kids to watch an hour and a half of football. Plus parking ! And its not the top 10 players in the world by any stretch.

    Can somebody introduce dadof2 to this thread. It appears there are mechanical issues here which have not been addressed by producing a heavier bike ?

    I find the forks have too much compression damping for my weight. Change the fork oil to 2.5 weight in the left leg , i find this helps

    Is the 4rt claimed weight dry or with engine oil and petrol ? The mont carries a lot more oil i would think

    Its quite common for a trials bike to do 350000 kilometres.... This makes me laugh really, not getting at you feetupfun but how many of those against FI trials engines drive to the trial in an FI vehicle week in week out ? My van started again today, it's done 89000 miles but this wouldn't influence the purchase of a FI trials bike, its simply not relevant

    Yes all good points Johnny. But unless dairy farmers buy only gas gas off road bikes this is an industry issue not Gas Gas specifically

    If you connect the carb breather back to the tank on a trials bike surely its just going to flood the engine when going downhill or the bike is dropped ? This is an advantage of efi i would think.

    One way valve fitted to the breather stops that and costs less than a tenner. Keihins spill a lot if fuel though when pointed downhill or bike is layed over
