No what you have demonstrated is that a good rider on a poor bike will still beat a shall we say not as good rider on a good bike. If the sachs shock is poor it won't stop him winning
In their shoes id have stripped the bike measured / photographed what i needed and then if gg want it back who cares. Wonder if the electronic water pump gets fitted ? Reiger shock and Keihin carb would be likely on his bike
Rode a scorpa 300 and 2015 std 300 sherco back to back in the summer. The scorpa blew the sherco into the weeds above quarter throttle. If anything id say the 300 sherco was fine for me in terms of power but the scorpa had too much.
I just put the dogbone in a vice with a large socket one side that the bearing will fit into and a smaller socket the same size as the bearing on the other
In 2011 Dabill didn't go to last round in Japan which cost him a couple of places.
2012 to 2014 he finishes 6th every year.
In 2014 cabestany beat fajardo for 3rd
Dibs wasn't closing in, cabestany did better than fajardo.
Or add your age and the class you ride to your post. I found the swm I had was fine on the easy course and some middle route sections. Generally though on the middle course both clutch and brakes were something of a handicap. So in answering the question try and remember that not everyone is riding the twin shock course.
Main advantage to a hydraulic clutch i think is that the bite point doesn't change when you turn the bars. We could live with a cable clutch really but i don't want to go back to drums, early disc brakes are bad enough compared to modern stuff.
its not going to happen until your current top 5 / 6 are gone, you are asking turkeys to vote for Christmas.
As it stands each has a well paid ( I certainly hope so) factory ride as nobody else can do their jobs.
So there is very little left to fund the up and coming riders who just like the top few need minders for practice as well as for events. This means an up and coming rider needs funding for all expenses and something to live on x 2 people. Unless a young rider has a private sponsor its just not do able
Why not ?
Because the range of ability is now immense. You can't really run a centre trial as a single route so imagine the range of ability between somebody 10th at an S3 round and Toni Bou.
Don't disagree but its all been said before. Manufacturers pump money into the wtc still, for some until they have no cash left. Let it die, it has failed to sell bikes which has to be one of the purposes for its very existence.
After all we all know who the best rider is.
Take the 4mm headed allen bolt out of the centre and the whole basket including plates comes off you don't need to touch the star head bolts. Use a good allen spanner and NOT a ball end one
The shortened inlet doesn't make a lot of difference. You can make more difference by reducing the flywheel weight, porting or using a bigger piston.
Your piston seems to be a 68.5mm. Birketts supplied me with a 69mm woosner piston last year which worked perfectly. Please be aware that some suppliers sell 70mm pistons from other yam models but they tend to have the wrong gudgeon pin height so the base of the barrel has to be skimmed. Just check the gudgeon pin distance from the piston crown before buying. The woosner was the correct height.
