  1. The kick start gears need to be engaged before any great force is applied. If its not engaged properly you can chip a tooth
  2. Biggest improvement was using reiger shock and tech forks, although this wasn't on all models
  3. Don't know about Gas but no shortage of hot air
  4. Apparently a chemists shop in Wylam ?
  5. See other thread. Bids sent in last Friday but judge now has to decide
  6. I think a lot of us forget how long we had a bike before we rode a trial. You learn faster as a child, i had a bike for two years before riding a trial, i got my first bike when i was 10.
  7. I haven't been to watch for a few years as my kids were too young. Had a cracking day yesterday, amazed at John Sunters speed against all the supported riders. Very impressive
  8. Hydraulic throttle was playing up i think. He has asked for a v6 car engine with weber carbs for next year and cable discs. Not that im assuming where you are going with this question
  9. Its not that expensive really if you compare to the factory replicas from beta sherco and the discontinued gas gas. Best suspension front and back, fuel injection, electric water pump etc. Its a lot for a trials bike but you get a lot less from the other manufacturers for £750 less. Cheaper than a mont ??
  10. I couldn't believe id done it but it was a cheap fix
  11. I had my bike apart for a few weeks tidying it up to sell it a couple of years ago. New owner rang and said it keeps cutting out and the fan doesn't work? I had connected the temperature sensor to the kill switch circuit in error so when the bike got warm enough for the fan to start it killed the engine. Have you done the same ?
  12. Dont know for sure but the hose connects to the clutch inspection cover so it must be actuated differently.
  13. Sorry the original question was do we need hydraulics. I might have missed something here but im pretty sure there is no trials bike fitted with a hydraulic throttle ? So why is this relevant. Last year I owned a pinky yam and a gas gas pro at the same time. No matter what the hydraulic problems i wouldn't swap the gasser for the yam. By the way the Yamaha had a hydraulic disc fitted from 1991. Not a drum, not a cable disc but a Hydraulic Disc. Prior to this both John Shirt and Talon were making aftermarket kits.
  14. Rode as a youth in 82, finished a comfortable last. Dad said i was asleep before he got to the A9
  15. Had this before. It sounds like the allen bolt in the centre is loose, it unwinds until it hits the top hat from the slave cylinder. When you pull the clutch you hold the bolt still and as the shaft is spinning it winds in again or vice versa. Dont use a ball end hex as the head on the bolt is shallow
  16. Aberfeldy as in the Aberfeldy 2 day ? What a trial that was
  17. Thats just a conspiracy theory Timp however Neil Armstrongs lunar lander did have a cable flush toilet.... has this thread finally gone down the pan ?
  18. And i think most of us probably have doubts about your never ending list of friends and their mechanical issues which always seem to back up your view on a topic ?
