Why Won't You Start!?
glad your sorted, useful tip is to use a marker pen on the crank nut/bolt and the flywheel itself before you take it off so you know how far to tighten it back up.

Shirty's Comment On Next Yrs Wc
Been thinking about this (again!). Currently we have no restrictions on section design. Some of the problems are related to section design. Yes you have to hold a licence to set the sections but that may just relate to the safety / insurance issue rather than what makes a good section ? How could we set parameters for acceptable sections ? I do dislike watching the worlds best ride over 3 big rocks connected by large flat bits of grass.

My Little Practice Section, & My Poor Technique
Dont worry about the front wheel skimming the log. You probably need something about a foot higher for that technique to be easy to learn. I think generally you look good on the bike

280Cc Vs 300Cc?
I've had a 2006 and 2010 300 both had too much for me. I dont understand the view that the 300 is easier to ride its just too much power, ok for better riders. However im currently riding my fourth 280, I always fit a flywheel weight but its my favourite gas gas engine.

Look in uk trials forum for a discussion called british round today. Its about Tim Pearson riding an EM the last British Trials Championship round

Turning Tubeless Tyres
Its only really an issue if you are going to be on the road for a long time at hi speed. I have turned michelin tyres in the ssdt and not had a problem. I don't think a modern bike can go fast enough to cause an issue with the tyre

Trials Competition, Could I Enter?
Just go to an easy / beginner event. looks like you have the between the sections riding nailed, but from what I watched, you need to practice riding much slower and tight turns

Another Penrith 2014 Wtc Video
you are correct Guys our sport is too small to run the current world championship with professional observers. Those who do observe do their best but looking at the size of the trucks and staff to support the top five or six there needs to be some redistribution of expenditure.

Hi Tim How many batteries did you use during the trial ?

Well done, getting started should be the hardest part.

Worst Observing Ever Seen
To be fair I noticed under previous and current rules riders going backwards without penalty, particularly on rear wheel. Trouble is we are going to have to accept some margin of error as the observer is observing live without video. Watching the WTC around Europe over a number of years you need 6/7 observers per section to police all the people not actually riding and stop them gardening. And if we go back to timed stop permitted rules we also need a timekeeper. Our sport cannot supply this many people.

Shirty's Comment On Next Yrs Wc
12th in the world sounds fantastic until you mention only 14 started. Success criteria for any future change in rules needs to be 25 - 30 entrants for the top course.

Cost / lack of funding ?

Worst Observing Ever Seen
Have you responded ianw to the question I asked ? Have I said the rule change has been good for the sport at the highest level ? Trials isnt ice skating ian, observers are not supposed to award points on the level of skill they perceive. The role of the observer is to record the performance of the riders under the rules as set out. This doesn't happen under either set of rules but that doesn't prove anything. No stop hasn't worked at wtc level and i think a lot of people never wanted it too. Basically section designers have tried to apply no stop to the same or similar sections to before. However if we now change back we are just where we were 2 years ago with 10 - 15 entries at wtc level, the same top 5, the same declining entries in local events, not enough new bike sales, the same rider demographic, ie more over 40 riders than any other group. So now what ?
-
Worst Observing Ever Seen
Yes it would be good to have a more objective / balanced view occasionally. Please remember the wtc was actually dying on its feet before the rule change, largely propped up by a 125 class paid for by parents. As dabster has mentioned numerous times whats happened to those who have won youth and junior titles ? Some are still there but Gomez, Morris, Bethune etc etc couldn't make the wtc pay. In what year did the top class last have 25 entries averaged across the year ? Under any rules you like ?

Suspension Setup Service/bike Prep Uk?
What bike have you got now how much do you weigh ? You can tailor bikes to your style but with an older bike its often a matter of just ensuring mechanically they are ok.

Wtc France Scores...
In Spain a competition licence is around 300 euro, this presumably funds a truck. People in the uk were most unhappy when the acu first charged £10 ! Personally i think we have bigger issues to fix than buying a truck

Fim Trial World Championship - France
The fort William rounds were stop permitted not stop for one or no stop so why were you asked to count to three ?

Are The Bigger Evo's Harder To Start?
My 280 Gg is the same as the previous ones for some reason hot or cold it always starts 3rd kick. I never stand on the pegs to kick it over
