  1. Keihin runs better either fourth needle notch from top or with the washer supplied by splatshop under the needle clip and the clip in the third notch. Some also find 48 pilot jet is better than 45 std. Also sounds like your bike needs a clean out, may just be residual oil in the exhaust burning on a climb. If its crank seal you should notice oil level dropping week to week.
  2. Dont route the hose through the mudguard brace but zip tie it the front of the brace. Also fit a cable guide from a sherco, splatshop sell them for a couple of £s, and fit to the number plate.
  3. Iknow how to hold the fork but the nut on the right side cap spins inside the cap. It will lock if you keep turning but I wondered I would break something internal ? The cap is drilled around the circumference I wondered if there was a tool to fit into the holes ?
  4. How did you get right fork leg cap off ?
  5. Ps your right about the price though
  6. I know of three in all happened when the rider fell off and just became entangled in the bike. Things happen so fast when a bike goes out of control.
  7. Probably gasket if not the breather as suggested. Clutch gasket is very thin but you can now get a re usable one from splatshop which is a better job.
  8. Dabster is right bottom half is the same 250 / 280 / 300.
  9. Piston slap gets worse as the bike warms up. If it is this which is caused by a worn bore / piston it will be most noticble at low rpm. Ie blip the throttle it goes away as it returns to tick over you hear a rattle. In my experience every time you fit a new piston to a worn bore you end up back where you started after a couple of rides. Spend the extra and get the cylinder re coated to match your new piston and it will last a couple of years.
  10. It will be ok on level ground if there is plenty juice in the tank but going uphill with low juice would be an issue.
  11. I think thats the best looking beta in years !

    Skimming Head.

True you could do that but the port timing would then be out of sync.

    Skimming Head.

Probably better off buying a new head. If it has rubber o rings you cant replace the metal lost by skimming the head with more gaskets. I ran an air cooled yam with out a head gasket to increase compression but it just pinked. Gasket was only 1mm but made quite a difference.
  14. Martin Lampkin Bernie Schrieber Steve Saunders
  15. Its a good little course, its still in the north east centre by the way. If you can ride other NE easy routes this wont be any more difficult
  16. Posted at exactly the same time Paul
  17. No fuel goes to the carb because of gravity. The float valve is supposed to shut off the supply but this isnt effective if the bike is on its side. Excess fuel then runs through the jets and can flood the engine with petrol.
  18. It might be innovative depending who you ask......:-)
  19. Hopefully the person in charge of vertigo stop reading this thread a while back
  20. I think you now have to be 19 before you can ride more than a 125 on the road. Not sure why its under 23 but if you are 17/18 and dont want to ride s3 on a 125 then you could ride this.BTC is probably too hard for a lot of people.
  21. I wanted a vito for years, finally got one but the rear diff went noisy within a week and within a couple of weeks the garage got sick of trying to fix it and gave me a refund. Bought a trafic next and prefer the trafic to drive plus better mpg. Its has had a clutch but other than that its been ok and I'm now up to 80k
  22. Ossa / sherco air filter. And a linkless rear suspension system.
