  1. I love this " the businessman " idea. You would think nobody had ever failed in business before. I sincerely wish them well but the product is going to need to be very good and cheaper than the rest to start taking market share.
  2. Its already been done in late eighties by talon for trials bikes. You are literally re inventing a wheel...
  3. Yes Talon made them but remember sprocket bolts require loctite as do disc bolts. Its easier to turn the tyre ! It was an advantage before tubeless tyres however. I would suggest they follow yamahas lead and ignore wtc altogether. Make a 250 that 75% of riders will improve on and make it reliable and it will sell. A modern Ty250 isnt available currently but is desperately required.
  4. Regina make two one is rubbish the better one is as good as a renthal. I jet wash the bike spray chain with wd40 and thats it. Haven't heard a good report on an Iris chain, ever ! I get 6 months out of either renthal or the better regina
  5. I didnt mind the additional weight idea IF it led to more reliable bikes or more environmentally friendly bikes. However without other measures at the same time all that's going to happen is a few bolts and exhausts will go back to being steel. The capacity limits dont make any sense to me. Noise is a problem and the mont is no saint. Why not apply a noise limit at a higher rpm ?
  6. O ring chains were being used in the ssdt in the late 80's early 90's. I used them myself and after ssdt used it the rest of the year. It would need adjusting once or twice in all that time. You cant fit them to a gas gas pro or a beta as the chain is too wide, ossa maybe the same. Down sides are you do lose power 5 - 10% and if the chain breaks you need a tool to re fit chain link as its a press fit. Non o ring chains have improved to the extent renthal or regina chain will last the ssdt. Bear in mind also that oring chains are harder on the sprockets. Id buy a renthal R1 chain in your shoes.
  7. Not sure eddie. Will either rider break into the top 5 on the ossa ? If not then ossa have three riders between 6th and 10th rather than one. Is that better for sales. Would be good from a national championship point of view though as they should make the podium in nationals.
  8. Can you get him a job at the factory ? From the 1st release of pictures I thought the bike looked fantastic but I cant bring myself to spend that much money on an unreliable bike. When its sorted ill have one.
  9. Ohlins work either way. i never thought about the unsprung weight aspect
  10. In all my years of riding trials I dont think I have ever had a good ride in a trial I set out. I think I spend too much time asking riders what they think of the event so im not focused on riding

Yes used one before as good as original

Comical. climber mated to air cooled barrel ? Gas Gas forks maybe. How many swm bits are left. Darth Vader has more original parts. Could have bought any modern bike brand new for less.
  13. No I think lineaway is right I spend a lot of time convincing various bodies that we are responsible people. Some great riding but just get permission first. Red bull city trial managed to so why cant others

Clutch side weight is 1.6kg so pick up is improved with it off. Still seems to grip ok and im still yet to stall it in the approx 6 weeks I have owned it ! Love it

Mine was similar to that inside Ross but the exit tube was much shorter and there was another chamber before the original two small exit pipes. The noise was from the large plate with the square hole in rattling as it was only spot welded. Bike goes much better now but this is more to do with lowering the needle from standard and replacing jets with new ones.
  19. To be fair to the poster the rear brake on a beta is not as sharp as on a gas gas or sherco. This maybe because the pedal is shorter or that the kit is different.
  20. Spacers are 55mm. ROde today with atf in forks but still topping out. Fitted apico clutch lever but clutch drag is terrible. Are pattern plates available ?
  21. Never seen them, got a link ?
  22. Next question. Bike has marzocchi forks but they were topping out and felt a bit dead. I guessed previous owner had put too little oil in and changed the oil to 220ml of grade 5 to make them a bit more lively. However forks are still topping out so im wondering if the spacers on top of the springs are too big ? Anyone know how long spacers should be. Ill put grade 10 back in when I get some.

Not exactly bright sparks Beta boys, I thinks its due to all the ignition systems replaced over the years...
  24. baldilocks replied to b40rt's topic in SWM
Uh oh are you about to tell me I cant do it with an impact gun. Never had clutch case off yet.
  25. baldilocks replied to b40rt's topic in SWM
Was thinking of trying a lighter flywheel but dont want to do mods I cant reverse. So can I simply remove the weight from the clutch side on a 280 swm ?
