It's hard to say until the routes are out, but you'll find at least one spot every day you can get to without too much hassle. Most of the popular sections are easy to get to, but you may have to park a bit away depending on when you get there. The programme is normally pretty good at telling you where to go. On the subject of routes, last year each day's route was published on the SSDT website on the morning of that day. It was a bad idea which I have to take the blame for as it made it hard for those heading up through the week in planning their trip and deciding where to go. It won't be repeated this year.

Just received from FIM... Despite the intention of the FIM and 2Play to add a new date to the FIM X-Trial World Championship calendar to replace the cancelled X-Trial Seville, this has not been found possible. As a result, the calendar is reduced to seven events, rather than the eight initially anticipated. With two rounds remaining, the gap of points regarding the second rider in the standings and the fact that the regulations discard the worst result of the season, this therefore means Toni Bou has achieved his twelfth consecutive FIM X-Trial world title. The Championship continues tonight with X-Trial Paris and concludes with X-Trial Budapest on the 29 March.

Pat came over and rode in the Youth Championship in 2007.He did very well, but didn't take to life in Europe. A shame as he could have gone far, but no point in doing it if you're not happy.

Received this yesterday from the FIM: "Despite the best efforts of 2Play, the promoter of the FIM X-Trial World Championship, we hereby announce that the event originally scheduled to take place in Seville, Spain on 8 March has been cancelled. The FIM and 2Play are looking for a replacement venue that will be communicated as soon as possible." A replacement round has been added to the calendar as a "To Be Advised", but at the end of the season. I smell a "Lets give Toni time to recover" rat

It'll probably raise the debate about back protectors being mandatory again.

I've recently got into home automation and although I've already got an alarm, if I was starting from scratch on security, the home automation route would be the way I'd go. Buy a garage alarm and it's just that - an alarm for the garage. Spend a little more initially and you have the foundation for a load of other uses that's modular and easily expanded. Start with a hub (I'm using the Samsung Smartthings one) and add to it as you want. Can add all manner of sensors, switches, lights, sirens etc (velcro a vibration sensor onto the bike?) and it's very easy to set up and manage with notifications to your phone if something happens. Everything apart from the hub (which lives in the house next to your internet router) is battery operated so no dicking about with cables and because it uses Z-Wave and ZigBee wireless comms there's a multitude of compatible third party devices out there at not a huge cost. You can link devices together so, for example, a motion sensor covering the approach to the garage detects motion. That turns on a floodlight, but can also turn on lights in the house to make it look like someone is up and about and turn on the lights inside the garage. Thieving scum don't like light. if they then persist into the garage, detectors there can act like a normal alarm and sound sirens etc. Bonus is you can expand it to other areas like security for the house and heating/lighting/appliance control just by adding the right gadgets (and I like gadgets).

Yup. Not the case with an individual reply to a topic, but removal of the first post in any topic will delete the entire topic. That can't be changed. I can set it so that after x period of time a topic/post can't be deleted, but never had the need to enable that.

Posts are the same as topics. Only myself and the person who made the post/reply can delete them and I've not deleted anything.

I've not removed anything recently other than a few duplicate topics. Only person who can remove a topic apart from me is the person who started it.

The upside to using the same sections is the Yorkshire brigade don't have to fork out to watch eight rounds. Just pay for one and watch it eight times. The outcome is the same anyway.
