If you dont ride in particular rough or wet conditions its really surprising you are getting stuff into the airbox. Are you riding with the lid off? As said above, theres a world of difference pre and post power wash. The only ways in (other than the inlet) are through the lid and between the joins in the airbox. Previous ggs i had werent glued together but my 17 was glued together. Perhaps you could check and if not, dismantle the airbox and silicone the two half together. As for the lid, if im riding in rivers i tape the gap around the lid, if im nowhere near water theres no need. PS regarding evoalien, id put up with a lot more than the infrequent piece of mud in my airbox than ride a beta
  2. 100% not a wives tales! Hot enough that they give a good sizzle and steam when douched with water, but not too hot that you blue the disc. Dragging the brake for about 30-60 secs is usually about right Dont ask me how or why it works, but it does

As you rightly say it is an eco model, looks pretty standard too.
  4. Standard footrests DEFINITELY flex!!!! Ive a box full of old ones bent out of shape. You are welcome to come look at them. Ive yet to see a set of billet aluminium or titanium footrests bend

more info here http://www.trialscentral.com/news-archive/headline-stories/18749-gas-gas-unveil-txt-gp-in-milan basically as suggested above, 3 way reiger, new tech forks, carbon airbox. All for an extra 1000 euro. Is it just me that still prefers the looks of the standard. Ive never liked the raga/factory, gold frames, black frames or the white frames.

Lots do. Some even get sued for releasing new products too often without advance warning
  7. faussy replied to faussy's topic in Gas Gas
Well i do too. Bought VERY recently

What they are calling the 2017 should really have been called a 2016. I understand its basically taking the form of the old raga, but it seems as if its being released earlier than previous years (probably to coincide with all the genuine 2017s from other manufacturers). For this reason it seems as if its replacing the current 2017. What is most annoying is GGUK reassure you no such bike is coming and deny all knowledge of such a bike 2 days before these photos are released. Do they think we are stupid? Bad practice in my opinion

Introducing a new model so soon after the previous is a form of obsolescence no matter how similar the bike is to the previous. "This is the new version, its different and better than the old one". Technically the 2017 model is out of date before 2017 has even arrived.
  10. Totally disagree. The standard pegs do bend or crush if you hit a rock hard. Billet aluminium or titanium pegs do not bend. Seen many a frame bend or hanger break, when a standard footrest would have just bent back.

Im supposing everyone has seen the photos. Anyone know any info, on when, what price and any differences? For those who havent http://www.photobysergio.fr/gas-gas-gp.html Oh and who's idea was it to call the current 2017 bikes, 2017? Another bike released before its even 2017. Are gasgas guilty of "planned obsolescence" ?
  12. Warning:Negative review coming up What an absolute terrible venue! Slightly better than penrith but still, is this the best the UK can put forward as a world championship venue? Ive ridden a lot of trials around the UK and i wouldnt put this venue in the top 20. Its basically a muddy dump, with random rocks added. The venue looks like it was past its best 20 years ago. Are we not supposed to try and promote this sport? How are we supposed to attract people into trials with a venue like that. What a disappointment. Who suggests a venue like this? Who vetos a venue like this? Im a keen trials rider and i felt embarrassed being there. I would dread to think how i would have felt if the person i was trying to talk into going had of actually went. Countless better venues throughout the uk, why arent we using them???
  13. Jitsie do an aluminium idle screw. Most people fit these. I think its more the plastic is too tight in the threads rather than the spring, and i think they use plastic to reduce the likelihood of drawing air, but still crap design.
  14. Ok. My mistake. So were the outlets right or wrong in calling the team england?
  15. Apologies for my naivety but was an English team or a British team sent to the TDN in Toulouse? They are listed in the results as Angleterre...
  16. Interesting topic. Mine was dragging, thought it was just due to badly worn pads at an angle and the pistons sticking. New pads seemed to fix it but ill keep my eye on it. I agree though, as long as the disk is there its impossible for the pads to come out.

Lawrence spence may be your best bet, near moenyrea. Dont know of any second hand frames, try leadmines racing maybe.
  18. Of course there is. You have just violated Newton's 3rd law
  19. Sounds spot on

Jitsie dont list one (just for your information)

Your valves and valve seats would not think a tetraethyllead octance booster a waste.
  22. I get you, a lot of japanese trials riders actually wear full face mx helmets riding trials. Ive yet to see an attempt of this for the motorcycle community, as above there are mountain bike variations that are a cross between full face and open face (google 'met parachute'). The problem is while they have some face protection they probably fall short on the main head protection required for motorbikes. Heck even some professional downhill cycling guys favour MX helmets over the specifically designed downhill helmets.
  23. Dont waste your time with a cbt or bike license for the sole purpose of learning to ride offroad. One day on a trials bike will benefit your trials skills more than a years riding on the road. Heck i know guys who have ridden bikes for 30 years and they would struggle to ride a bike across a field!
  24. For a few riders and bikes yes, but the majority of trials riders do not spend money on bikes, whatever age. Thats whats good about the sport, its the cheapest form of motorsport in my opinion, but thats whats wrong with it. 90% of trials riders will buy a new bike and not buy one more thing for it for 5 years, nada, not even a spare filter or a set of pads, never mind a trick exhaust or suspension bits! (case proven above). The aftermarket sales of trials parts is shocking. A MX'er will out purchase aftermarket parts for his bike 10:1 compared to a trials rider.
