    beta breather

on 17 betas there is a fuel cap breather in the cap but also 1 in the filler neck why ?
  2. hi ROB have a look at a 4rt ride best of both worlds. As for service (oils air filter ) much the same less carb cleaning and work involved in removing it ,with 4rt no water in carb but the trade off is electrics/ wiring making fault finding on 4rt harder .
  3. simple--the solution is exclude them from the event results as they have not entered the event as not filled entry form in correctly ,Why should clubs have to change the system for riders / parents that can not bother to follow the rules ? this dose not just apply to entries- no running engines ,no riding around before start .ride sections in order we have all seen it . Excluding them i bet the rules will be followed then !!!
  4. Thats up to you as dose it need to ? as i really dont care ! someone asked ,why? said ,why , same as why some riders like 3 & some wire 4 ties on grips coz thats what they want ! before you ask YES i have worked on top world round bikes were you are told do it & you do to keep the rider happy for them lot is in the mind
  5. remember air can compress a fluid dose not thus the movement as diaphragm is pushed by fluid on hit giving gap in res , it could happen the angles they work at ,So its to keep the top riders happy & 1 thing less for them to think about !
  6. its when they splat on steps the inbuilt res can get air in system on landing as res is not fully filled so fluid will move in res , with a remote res this will not happen so no air in system

    lost it ?

I was not giving anyone a hard time, I know how much hard work is put in by ssdt org and I thank them for that ,What I was trying to point out is the fact of NOTHING being posted by anyone, nothing getting asked, by riders or spectators or even chatting at trials about the ssdt

    lost it ?

Has the SSDT lost it ? yes a full entry but , A week to go and nothing no posts or build up .The last post march 16 and that was about Honda .When i was riding the trial all 20 of them there was a buzz about it but nothing now ! Has it gone the same way as the named nationals of old, forgot and just another trial ? . Look at photos of old 5 deep of spectators now look 50 if lucky. People dont even want go and watch . A total lack of build up for the ssdt
  9. reading these post makes me laugh ,if you feel trials are not safe why do it ,if you feel a full face helmet is the way to go why not wear one, like wise a lanyard kill switch fit one , if the section is to hard or you feel its unsafe ask for a 5. Or if you feel you want to wear full body armour No one is not stopping you to from doing any of that ! if it makes you feel safe do it ,its called taking responsibility for your self , your the one that took the sport up and its up to you to find out what trials entails

    beta s3 front pipe

if i fit a s3 front pipe instead of the standard pipe what can expect to happen to how the bike runs ? i mean is it worth the change thanks
  11. dadof2 do teams not get sent due to the cost ?If teams find world rounds tight on cash would they go to the ssdt . Plenty of people ride the bikes so will it really help sales . As for the check lists should a lot of that not be done and not just for ssdt ? im doing my beta now or that put out because a lot of riders do not know how to prepare a bike
  12. thanks for that dadof2 it was i have just come off a 4rt and onto a beta a 2016 and i wanted to know why you would do it the other way round , as you say 4rt was good on rocks but i found it was bad on banks would just stop and spin for no reason . there are a lot of betas around here so everyone can not be wrong ? time will tell
  13. nice workmanship but what class dose it go in ? twin shock not fair on the old bikes is it.as not from twin shock era ! ,normal class not right for it ,against the modern bike ? So its a bit of a nothing bike then. So dose a club have to make yet another class for it to ride in ?
  14. which bike do you ride now dadof 2 ? and how have you come to this expert opinion do you get to try all bikes ? why would you buy the least competitive bike strange !
  15. dadof 2 the ssdt is not a part of wtc so why would wtc teams be sent ? .As for none of modern bikes are ideal for the ssdt what are you on !!!!?. SO no OLD bike ever seized. got dirt in carb & ignnition failed ? So according to YOU it would be better ride a old bike in preference to a modern light weight bike ? You are saying no modern bike is ideal for the ssdt so why & how do they finish the event ? So what experience of the ssdt do you have & on what bikes
  16. reading these post i have not seen anything about the amount of road work and fast forest tracks that are used, so get your gearing nice for sections and then find it slow for that job ! yes i have ridden quite a few ssdt and as a rider i would gear my bike to use 1st most of the time and 2nd now and then. The With gearing up it gave me more speed for the road and tracks which helps and are you really going to use 3or4 in a ssdt section or or you going to be using 1st most ? , I have also seen people change front sprockets for the road work ,As soon as i got home i would change my gearing back to what i would use as I found ssdt gearing was no good for normal trials .What i am trying to get across is that ssdt gearing is a 1 off
  17. i use hebo and seal skin socks which i find this gear is very good for clubman level trials hope this helps and I ride ok thanks for asking ! if you are not going to change your sprockets not much point in telling you what i use
  18. hi grim think you will find its you fan relay its a 12v rc2208 mitsuba 6681
  19. i have gone through much the same bad starting and running ,may i suggest you replace the wiring loom they are not that much, As you have seen the wires corrode bad and rot away , A new loom may save a lot of time as you start chasing faults through the loom
  20. sorry nigel your correct about buying a truck, it was hire a motor home with awning 6sept13 ,Rabie might laugh, i agree with him but a lot of things wrote are club level not RUGBY , As for RMC a good piece in Richmond news "costs charitys £6000 " why ?to mark out historic sites that the national park dont know were they were. Dose the ACU have someone on the books for land matters ? if so would that not help clubs ?,
  21. Not a joke ! ."Nigel" the man that wanted ACU to buy a truck, !!!!! Lets look at the scott how much problem was caused to the club with land problems from the national parks ? dont see the ACU stepping up to sort it out, Left to the club ... Trials clubs buy land then pay the ACU for the privilege to run a trial on there own land put on by volunteers , ACU championship trial its all down to a club to sort ! SO what dose the ACU do then Nigel ? they can not even make there mind up what set of rules to use stop/or non stop ! some governing body ! Remember the ACU just dont get the £10 registration fee they also get money from every entry of every trial run
  22. well my 10p worth. Not a lot i dont see them finding land / putting flags in / getting observers for trials but they soon have a go at a club or a official if its not done the way they want it ! remember club officials do it for the love of the sport & in there OWN time , I keep hearing the word cheep ? well if i pay £15 entry and observe your self, I may as well just go and practice, its down to value for money sorry acu you are just not cutting it ! How much money has been raised from trials ? and found its way back into the sport ? or put it another way how much trials land dose the acu own ? / no land no trials , The acu and trials have been going a lot of years !
  23. you could find that you are dropping your inner shoulder in on the turn, no matter how much you weight the outer foot rest you will still drop in and thus dab . Might help
  24. hi just rebuilt mine with a crf "hot rods" rod kit
  25. I have rode SM rounds and KIA on a twin shock so feel I can add something . What I can see is trials for these bikes are getting harder so catch 22 mod a bike or leave ? . It seems the people that have spent 1000s on a bike want harder sections more of a advantage ?,ANS ....Well start from scratch make the sections for standard bikes ie easy ! yes modified bikes will find it easy but they will not have that much of a advantage, how many times on these forums has someone put ive just got a bike what mods to do ?, It might also make people think whats the point of (spending 1000s )modifying my bike , As for loads of cleans ? well the oldest rider wins or a special test . What I have found over the years it is harder to ride a easy trial than a hard trial . AS for the bikes waist of time trying to sort the bikes now as it has BEEN let to get out of hand, so make sections so there is NO advantage to a modified bike ,and please remember to all these people that keep saying "standard " back in the day it was 1 course suits all ! plus the sections were a lot harder then than now just not as tight !
