Obviously for one reason and not because they look good.....

Trials riders try to stick to tradition as trials was always the cheapest of the 2 wheel sports, or could be if money was tight. Back in the day the bike you went to work on in the week you may trial on a Sunday(before my day) Motorcycling was cheap transport then, not any more really. Obviously you can still buy a bike for 4 to 500 pounds and trial it but they are few and far between and nothing is getting any cheaper, the a/c monos day will come and the prices will rise. Everything comes at a cost as always and when thats sorted we just get taxed to the hilt.....(have you noticed the price of fuel lately) It's a nightmare for people to get a full bike licence and those of us who have them they have been removing the privelige when you come to send in a change of address it seems. What constitutes "classic" status and who has the say so ?? I think you are right, the a/c monos are looking lost in some peoples/clubs eyes as they don't run a class, even though anyone can turn up and ride one at a modern trial of course.

Bolt the fork back in the yokes tight and you need to pull the bottom down a few times like a slide hammer. You should be able to leave the springs and top nut all in situ and then lever the seal out carefully.

Looks a neat job. The KL engine was a good engine if you do regular oil changes. I have seen a Beamish with a KL motor in a long time ago.

You said it .... We had a mate like this once, the bottom line was he didn't want her indoors to know he had a bike, wanted one of the other forum users to keep it at his place etc...... He never did buy the bike..

They don't seem to be going like hot cakes though, those TY monos have been advertised for months. I was at the trial where the photo was taken of the one bike last summer. They're not queuing up for them. Somewhere else on the site was a cobbled Mont frame and a Fantic engine which was going to set the trials world alight, again that was way back. The Fantic 240 that Woody highlighted would cost less and if looked after would at least hold its value, if these "new twinshocks" ever come to light and clubs wake up and realise what they are how much are they worth then ?? Jack s**t. A Fantic was sold on ebay recently, totally original and unmolested, never restored for 1200 I think, this is sensible money for a t/shock.

There is a TY mono out there with a serow engine in I believe. Hailwood replicas..... Vintage tractors? same thing aren't they.. (joke) I had a Darmah years ago, the MHR is a cracking looking bike, not the sort of thing you see every day..

They could and Scorpa do but the masses wouldn't buy it as it's not trendy enough even if it was 200/250cc. not bad for a 125??

The new stuff doesn't interest me either but how is it the new generation and improved on last years product I have never seen one, were any tried or tested or will we be looking at Mk 3 next year still no wiser ?? Or have I missed something.??

There's talk elsewhere on the web of fitting an ATC 200 top end on a TLR200, for different power delivery (more torque) and it has the cdi pick up in the head like the old XL's of the same era, also bigger fins for improved cooling. Just wondered has anyone here done it, if so is it a big improvement ?? Thanks in advance
