Hi Rachel, this is the bolt you need for the front wheel ( if it is the front he needs) the tube you have found on ebay is front.

A better buy than socks....
PS if you have a m/c shop in your area they should have a 2.75/3.00 x 21" front tube in stock and may even have the security bolt.. Good luck.
If it is the rear he needs you want this

Decent non resisted plug (no R in the number) clean carb etc. Full choke no throttle, may take a few kicks this time of year. Turn off choke after 30 secs or so (if that), may want half choke for a short time. They warm up fairly quickly as a rule.

This one has bigger b*****ks than most....

Which is why they keep the name, weren't the 4rt's badged Hondas in Japan?? Japanese buy Honda, rest of the world buy Monts, simple, same product different name.

I spoke to a bloke at an autojumble a while ago who specialised in Bantam parts, old boy from somewhere in the Reading, Berks Oxford neck of the woods. I wrote his number down to contact him and got a digit wrong. Does anyone here know the bloke I mean, he had supplied some parts for trials projects in the past. Any ideas?? Thanks.

I know what you mean, I have just bought a 1976 Z900, needs a few jobs.Next summers toy...

Thanks Jon, Electrex don't do any for the 325. Owners club website not responding. Ebay USA have loads of CDI's (same as TS 185/250),nothing here though. Remind me never to get tempted by a Beamish.....
PS what's happened to the Serow project ??
-
A mate is trying to sort out a Beamish 325 which when cold does not have a spark but when the cdi box has been left in the warm for a while has a decent spark and runs well. Take the cdi off put it outside until cold and no spark again.(he is a m/c mechanic so knows his onions) Has anyone here had a similar problem or a cure or a part number or idea of a replacement for the cdi box ??? Thanks in advance.

For my 2p worth I would say as others have said before me they are worlds apart, if your average man in the street was thinking of having a go he would probably steer in the direction of the "classic" format no matter what bike he was riding. Many clubs are doing the O 50 mono thing at classic type trials etc and some in this area will cater for everyone and their dog, partly through a case of getting the numbers up. As for a modern bike in a classic trial,,, well it seems to bother a few but surely if they have their own class what does it matter. Surely bums on seats is the name of the game especially in a run of the mill club event. I must go now I have a feeling of De ja vou.....

After we encountered the snow last week I would stay at home if I was you.

If you use an air gun or get the use of one with a good fitting allen socket in the bottom it should be quick enough to zip it out and not need to hold the gubbins in the leg. Can't remember if they have a circlip to hold the seal though.
-
I forgot the air leak at the carb manifold. The only Mont I ever owned suffered from this due to it being over tightened at some point before I owned it.
-
If you have a clean carb, fresh fuel and a new plug and timing is right I would suspect the crankcase oil seal behind the ignition, take the back plate off and look for tell tale signs of fuel leaking out if you have been kicking/bumping enough. Has the bike been stood for a long time, if so change the seals as they go hard inc the clutch side. Is the spark strong,if not could be suspect ignition. I don't get involved with Monts t b h but a 2 stroke is fairly straight forward.

They're not the best but easily sorted, I think some decent springs as well as the following thread.

Why not ask Shedworks to mount one on their Tlr and take a picture, they ride Tlr's and I am sure could do it.

Another bloody scam to be aware of!! I copied this off the 900r forum:-
"** Postal Scam ** confirmed by royal mail: cards are being posted from a company called PDS (Parcel Delivery Service) stating that they were unable to deliver a parcel and to contact 09066611911 DO NOT CALL this is a premium rate number u will be charged

Soak the new plates in oil before you fit them, the same oil you will be using in the gearbox..
