  1. Quite a few t/shock 250s about with mono forks fitted, as mentioned you can get the yokes bored to suit. Mono forks are getting hard to find though.
  2. I have seen it done and some quality Bantam frames have it. It could have been done back in pre 65 days, I dare say someone did it ???
  3. It could be a late registered one, I have seen a D reg twinshock, possibly old stock or incorrectly dated when reg'd, may be used the reg letter from the year. Can you put a picture on or a link to a pic ?? Monos came out around 85 / 86 so there was an overlap. Don't bother with WD in the cylinder, just mix up some fresh mix and it should be fine, if it hasn't been started , nurse it for a while don't over rev it. Once started let it tick over , get it warm etc.
  4. Looking good.Just done one myself. PS the 200 is CDI ignition. Honda stopped using points late 70s. If you do the cam chain and tensioners your self don't rely on the tensioner to work as factory intended, remove the flywheel and sort the tension manually, not too tight..
  5. Excellent, thanks for sharing. Weather was on their side as well.......
  6. In a fashion I'd say. I have a Caddy, same shell as a Touran, obviously you need the seats out etc. May be tight to the headlining, they are tight in the van. Won't be far out. I once had a Z900 in my Caddy.
  7. Hard to see but the tank looks like it's been painted anyway so could be a Reflex. They give aways are steel rims and small er forks. The silencer looks Reflex.

  9. Castrol used to do the orange arrows to point riders / spectators to sports events. It appears due to budget cuts they haven't had any made recently. Does anyone know if there are any other suppliers who haven't fallen on such hard times who may be happy to supply said arrows for a bit of free advertising? If we don't have any joy we will buy some sign plastic and make some. Thanks in advance.
  10. Is there a front m/guard bracket available off the shelf that will fit the Roadholder slider standard mountings. Thanks in advance.
  11. I'd say 1600 is well ott. Sorted ones fetch that, maybe a bit more. You would see half that if very lucky.

    Scorpa Tys 175

You don't need genuine Scorpa parts, they are a std bearing size. I can't remember the size but if you remove one and go to your nearest bearing supplier they will match them up. They are same front and rear.
  13. He is, not seen much other than his son on the AJS.
  14. Not seen anything about cancellations on FB ??
  15. Some pics on FB show the goings tough. Wettest place in the UK it seems ??
  16. Anyone still not received results look here... http://hctrials.blogspot.co.uk/
  17. As was mentioned in another thread recently a few Fantics are having running problems. What we forget is they are 30 years old now. Many need coils up dating and a decent carb, can transform them no end.
  18. HCTC will hold their first trial of 2013 at Bowley Court farm nr Bodenham, Herefordshire. (signposted off A49 Dinmore). Fantic 200

Change the 2 coils and then see how it starts and runs, especially when warm. I had a Fantic, it started okay but played up when warm and wouldn't tick over. I changed the coils and carb it ran well after that. Try coils first , the replacements are wired slightly different and should come with their own diagram, quite straight forward.
  20. I have just put mine back together and did not notice a bush in there only an O ring. Maybe yours was sloppy and someone altered it??. My frame has been blasted, powder coated etc and the pedal / shaft went in a snug fit.
  21. I think Totalshell has his, he is building it. I doubt Jim will take long to supply one he may have one in stock.
  22. I am with Johnnyboxer on this. Nothing more annoying at some trials when the kids start hopping about as the queue grows, lots of revs , more hopping and a bit more noise then ....................5. Reason why the classic scene is busy in this neck of the woods I'd say. Good idea? Bad idea? Depends what you know??
  23. Not quite sure what 125 / 175 parts you have (3 speed ??), You may be better off enquiring on the BSA Bantam forum, go armed with engine numbers of what you have got. The majority of Bantam trials riders are using 4 speed engines which many use a TS 185 piston or Rex Caunts replacement, it takes capacity to 186 cc . Can't comment on the Mont head but I know a Fantic one will fit but needs quite a bit of work, it gives the advantage of centre plug head. Best to sort out exactly what you have first then go from there.

    1976 Ty 175

Sounds like many of the TY's that are left, had a bit of a hard life, they do tend to get hammered in their later years if in the wrong hands. A good carb clean and set up may sort that out after you have the correct air filter fitted. Probably needs a set of rings or at most a rebore, if however it sounds okay and pulls well I'd leave it for now. The beauty of these is there are plenty of parts around and I think most parts are still available, get it running properly first then take it from there.
