  1. Exactly what I was thinking. Fantic will likely cost more
  2. You need to trawl down through the Facebook page to find the info, it has been a busy page since it started. Surprising what bikes are still out there in sheds etc. A/c monos are the last affordable air cooled trials bikes, the rest have rocketed in price.
  3. No, it's all straight forward. Just keep the ignition coil etc wired, one wire comes from alternator plug to coil. You may want to keep the kill switch wired in.
  4. Here's another take on it. A Cotswold / Mono conversion. https://scontent-a-lhr.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xfa1/v/t1.0-9/1902900_712324955514371_4886112658257617960_n.jpg?oh=caa80b58dacea5ada894f80ef03231ba&oe=54DDF758
  5. People are just trying to advise you against doing it for good reason. Good air cooled monos will be sought after soon, they are the last affordable air cooled trials bike. Even though I have seen a few over time I don't know anyone who has done it. I nearly did it myself a few years ago but didn't bother for the very reasons mentioned in this thread. There is a very expensive one on ebay now. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TY-YAMAHA-250-MAJESTY-TRIALS-2014-/221597149255?pt=UK_Motorcycles&hash=item3398382847
  6. This relatively new series has a class for a/c monos and for a/c monos converted to twinshock...... thing is they are in the same class. What does that tell you ??? http://twinshockchampionship.org.uk/page11.html
  7. If the bike is running okay don't bother.
  8. We struggle to get help at our trials. I went along to watch the Rhayader trial a couple of yrs ago and have not ridden for a while due to a shoulder injury. Will be back out again soon and would hope things are sorted with Rhayader.
  9. Has this trial been and gone?? If so not the usual time in the year. The website says TBA and wasn't updated after last Saturday date?? Nothing on their site about trial ??
  10. Drayton frames for C15s now on the bay............ http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BSA-C15-B40-Classic-Twinshock-Pre65-/141434372904?pt=UK_Motorcycles&hash=item20ee254328
  11. Best advice I could give is just get out and ride, get to know a few riders who you will find most are happy to advise. I help run one of the local clubs, Herefordshire Classic Trials Club, we mainly cater for the classic scene but don't turn modern bikes away. Our next trial is end of December at Clyro, if you are on Facebook we have a page on there. The scene locally isn't what it was but it's always good to hear of new blood coming into the sport. If you fancy a day at a trials school I would recommend http://www.sxsuk.com/ Click on the link top of page, not expensive and only in Gloucestershire.
  12. Sounds like the same one. It was Scotland as well
  13. I didn't do it but they need it. I think Birketts fitted the arm off a later model ttr engine. Did you buy the 125 off Wobblies ??
  14. Info on bore kits here.... http://www.bjracing.com/sy125.html I had a 125, cracking bike, tempted to get another.
  15. There is talk on the subject here.... http://www.trialscentral.com/forums/topic/42464-before-and-after-photos-of-my-modified-76-ty175/page-2 I remember them at Telford.
  16. Not been riding much last 12 months due to shoulder injury, hoping to get out again in a few weeks. In the mean time this series has been started and has been getting good support and good press. I think it is my type of trial if only the easy route. Seems they have cracked it pretty quickly. Give folk what they want and they will come along. .
  17. That "thing" has been around a while. I doubt it went far production wise, and with the russians slipping down folks xmas card lists at a rapid rate I doubt they will be queueing up to buy them.
  18. 99 per cent they will interchange. The tlm had road kit fitted so they could be registered as a moped. I am sure the engine was same as the earlier MT and MB5. Look at this link, 3 rd pic down is Peter Gaunt, his bike is 62cc http://www.trialscentral.com/forums/topic/43483-perce-simon-sammy-miller-series-17th-november-2012/
  19. Mates bike was a 200 and it performed well, did everything he wanted. He had 250 Maj's before and went to the 200 . Sold due to injury, otherwise he'd still have it.
  20. Mate of mine just sold his Godden and he had a Wes without the tail pipe.. Don't know if it was altered as it was on there when he got it.
  21. Honda TLR200 Reflex. ( Normal Tlr are 35)
  22. Anyone have a link to a supplier of a decent 18 inch rear rim for a Bantam to be used with a widened hub . Also if you have built the wheels what spokes do you recommend ?? Thanks
  23. A couple of us have just bought TTR250 Yamahas to give it a go. Hoping to try some easy lanes soon to see how things go. TTR may be a bit high, may need a lowering link, give it a go and see ??
