Has anyone on here built a Bantam Cub ?? Just wondered about the engine mounts, were they completely different or modified ?? Anyone have a pic of a trials Bantam Cub. I think I've seen one but not sure. They were produced late 60s early 70s as road bikes.

Some covers look the same but the screw holes do not always line up, may be close . The 175 case does break easily I think possibly due to a stop inside breaking which in turn allows the k/s lever to crank round too far. Hopefully some one else will confirm. Most "project" TY's on ebay have this problem.
-
Had confirmation, 360mm as Charlie said.

Not sure if there are any current Drayton users on here. I know of a couple of people who have them, they rarely come up second hand. I think you order a bike and it gets built. There are loads down here, Jim does a nice job of the bikes, he's a very helpful bloke, give him a ring I have pm'd you his numbers. Cheers.

I have sent a text to a mate who has 2 Draytons, he hasn't replied yet.

What was / is the general consensus on this ?? Just lower ??, I rode one recently, I think they were just slightly lower and it felt right.
-
Replica, now sold. There are various reps being made
-
Thanks, I ended up buying both, the pit bike type you mentioned and more expensive ramair type, the cheaper one is better, due to its double filter. Tried it out it breathes well , The ramair doesn't have the volume.

FM 350 is a 200. (156cc) I don't think the numbers will match.
-
Surely it has road gearing ???
-
I mean air filters, k and n type but foam..
-
What pod filters are people using. I need to use one on my Bantam, are the pit bike ones any use ?? Loads on ebay, not much else, thanks in advance
-
Thanks Jon, it's a future project and speaking to a few I need to do homework. Most seem to be up north and well sorted........ at a price

Toying with building a Bantam Cub. Tiger cub engine in a Bantam frame. I have been offered a Cub engine, it's an early distributor engine, needs a rebuild. What advantage has the later engine got over the early type?? Can they be built to be as good ?? I realise some varying specs are available, I don't want to go over the top. Thanks in advance.

V5 landed this morning from Swansea, quicker than the tax, not seen it yet.

Thanks Woody, I only heard about the Nova thing recently, someone said my TLR wouldn't need it, can't remember why ? Just waiting to see what happens?? The TLR was imported within the last 2 years and I had the American title and duty paid paperwork. I imported a road bike from Southern Ireland last year and registered it easily, they didn't even inspect it. Fingers crossed.
If I had known about the Classic experts I may have left the registering?? Bantams registered though.

There's hope yet.I started with pretty much the same type of thing....

Gas Gas forks lowered pegs and a few new bits and it's good to go.

Just heard tonight it's not running, sent paperwork off to road reg a bike yesterday to ride it....
-
No speedo needed for the mot test itself but you need one for the road, check the IRC's dont have "not for highway use" on them, if they do scrub it off. Obviously check s.arm bearings fork seals etc etc.
-
Anyone else here noticed the fluctuating price of a certain TLR 200 . £800 on here, 1000 start price on ebay, 1000 on gumtree, price gone up to 1350 start on ebay . Now bumped to top of classifieds on here for 1600.
-
Try Talon for your rear sprocket, they do various sizes.
-
I hope it's on I intend to ride it. It was a week earlier last year due to a car rally clashing with their usual date I believe.
